Weird how a league can approve an ownership down south....yet up here they let any old crook buy a football club with no checks....

 

I see animosity towards Newcastle.

 

There’s a lot more to it tbh, the Saudis have been pirating content from BeIN Sports, they have stolen their content not just football and been packaging it as BeoutQ. The Qatar based sports network has asked for a review into the Newcastle takeover from basically a country that has been stealing the league’s content.

As things stand, I don't mind Newcastle. If this takeover happens, I can see myself growing to hate them in pretty short order. Just as I did with Chelsea and Manchester City.

 

All sounds good if you know nothing about Saudi human rights issues.

But even still, that type of wealth shouldn't be welcome as mad as it may sound to say. The control they'd force, they'd be begging Ashley never sold up.

Afterall, how does a newly cash rich club like Newcastle get round ffp if they went out and dropped £500 mill in a single transfer window

Stadium naming rights - £100m a year
Shirt sponsorship of some random Saudi royal company - £125m a year
Saudi club purchases random no make current newcastle player - £80m
Normal epl expenditure (if you aren't Mike Ashley running Newcastle) - £130m
Running out of options? - let the Saudis own a player and "loan" him to Newcastle.

All else fails, just pay whoever is being awkward.

Personally hope that sky pull the sponsorship money from the premiership and they all go bust.

Never really took notice of them, won next to nothing in there existence for a so called big club..

 

Let Sky do that and get them to invest same amount of EPL money into SPL.
Drop all their English clubs.

 

So they have unlimited money now basically, would be funny if the EPL became a one horse race..

 

Last trophy was in the 60s, inter cities Cup, so not even a cup you qualified for. Last domestic was 50s.

 

I've never really liked Newcastle anyway but will support anyone playing them now. Still think it will be a bit more difficult to entice the Neymars, Mbappes etc of the world to move to Newcastle, rather than Paris, London, Madrid etc or even Manchester for example. Hope they get pumped and we can see fat Geordies crying on a regular basis.
