New Still Game

Yeah, Louise Stewart is her name. She was in Burnistoun as well as other stuff, she's lovely.

 

Thought it was pish tonight, by far the worst. Navid was the only good thing about it.

 

I thought still game was good tonight navid falling down the cellar was hilarious.

 

I thought Navid was a * tbh. The whole denying folk drink thing was cringey.

 

What a brutal episode is was again.....was actually cringing all the way through that..


Needs to be binned tbh.....knew they shouldn't have brung it back

Out the 4 episodes so far (2 hrs) i laughed about 10 mins in total.

 

as if that burd would be seen wae that wee ned

 

I actually thought tonight was the second best of the series but tbh that's not saying much flopped as I thought it would should have just left it

 

I think it was the worst Still Game episode by far, too many over the top cringey jokes, poor acting from Fergie, Sinead and the ginger lassie, they were more pantomime than the normal way Still Game is.

 

Im no kidding man..massive fan of still game...but this is horrendous

The acting is very poor, the ned, the junkie.....even Navid and bobby are brutal.

The storylines arent very good tbh even for a 20 min comedy.

Was always skeptical about bringing it back and in my opinion i was right.

I think Methadone Mick is actually good, he is an over the top character but also a junkie, theres people like that out their * on methadone(or whatever else) and hilarious.

Fergie and Sinead are poor though, Fergie looks about 35(they said married when he was 21 and that it was 1 year ago) and the voice is shocking. Sinead looks about 35 as well and a * actor.

The bit with the ginger lassie and her parents was too forced, Still Game was always subtle and realistic not big daft smiles "it my parents".

 

I think theres been more poor acting than ever before only criticism i'd say of it. Like the "nae points PRRRRICK" guy was good the first time but seemed more fake in this return. Winstons brother was poor, Sinead and Fergie even Stevie doing the daft dance in the bookies didnt feel right. The Irish guy from down the stair from Jack played his part well and seemed more real.

Before in the original run all the minor characters were more realistic like the junkie who buys stuff out navids for her wean, Peggie and her boyfriend in the clansman, the gay baldy guy with the moustache, Jim Watt and his "daughter", the mental dial a bus driver, martin and his ma at the bus stop, the people when they go to the fancy mansion, old guy with the walking stick in the bookies.

The last seasons didn't have to be scrutinised though,as they where all great and most importantly all released at the same time.

I may very well be in the minority,but again in my opinion its very very poor for a comedy.

Mick is like a poor version of Dee Dee.....and seems to be in it far too much already....fair enough Pete the jakey died but we didnt need a new character with this much screen time

Winston has been brutal,in terms of script....Nothing funny at all from him,he was my fav character as well.

Bobby's acting is way off,seems slow and a boring character now

Navid is not a patch on old one....no vicious humour or taking the *

Isa and Tam are still decent though,few funny lines and doesn't appear to have changed much

Jack and victor have were ok in the first 2 episodes (the 2 best tbh)...some funny old screen moments

As some one said it feels more of a pantomine program now....and catered for the english TV viewers




Im trying not to hate it but i tend to cringe at the acting and poor scripts so far.....

Aye the jokes just feel so forced.

 

Aye, tonights episode wasn't really about anything either or anything people care about anyway, Fergie and his wife could also say the same of last weeks about a side/new character getting a job.

I think they have ran out of subjects they can base episodes on as they done them all in the original run. Theres little left they could make episodes about when thats what made it funny before, they'd take subjects and make it funny how old people did them or the kind of patter that revolved round it. Now the episodes are just about random stuff, no theme or base to work around.

 

Think Isa is holding it together at the moment. Quite like meth Mick too!

Winston is not the same bloke.....not edgy like he used to be...was the best character a lot of the time!!

ps- he does get line of the night though 'scanti pooldoonium'
