Ultimately the source of the blaming the victim in the media is also the source of the bile on the stands: a bigoted mindset and a lot of semi-repressed anger. It's a Scottish problem, not a Huns problem or a Hearts problem and goes right through Scottish society.

As for trying to blame Lenny, it's hardly surprising; when (relatively) powerful segments of society don't want to have to look at themselves and make a change, the victim always gets blamed.

It's what made Rangers dying so good TBH. I felt a bit sorry for the decent Rangers fans; but it was oh so sweet watching the Scottish establishment running around trying to save their club and getting their arses handed to them.

Disagree, think he has done a fine job. Not often sectarianism is discussed on a mainstream outlet, so the fact that he's even done it is a +1.

He's went on air and had a near 15 min convo entirely about Lennon and sectarianism in Scottish football, from Dundee to Hearts to the huns.

Situations like this make you realise the amount of absolute scum that live in this country. It is honestly ridiculous. Imagine * national news reporters saying a black manager brings racial abuse on himself. Or even mildly justifying it. There would be no one even starting to justify it because there is no justification.

Fair play to Lenny calling it exactly what it is in his press conference today and stating that it’s not just him, it’s happened to plenty Irish, catholic, Celtic players.

They don't like him because he dares to stand up to them and their bigotry and they hate that with a passion. As others have said if he was Black there would be an outcry... but when it's a Catholic from the North "He brings it on himself" is what they come out with. When Chelsea manager jumps around in front of the Man U bench most people see it a bit cheeky a bit of banter, no * is saying he should be hanged. It's always the same with these hun *. they attack us on daily basis yet we always come out on top, we * own these * and their time is up and they know it.

That would definitely be a worry.

Him holding up that trophy for a 10th time on the trot would undoubtedly spring some lunatic into action.

    Yup.

And it's what * me off when sections of the support suggest he "brings it on himself" - the man literally put his life on the line for Celtic with the frankly horrific abuse and threats he received. He never hides, he calls it out, he refuses to be a victim.

I know he's openly spoke about it in the past but this definitely all takes a huge toll on him mentally. The cracks have been there for all to see at times. But he refuses to be silenced or to walk away. Thought he spoke really well today. Nothing but admiration for the guy.
