Don't think those two would have been much better. Makes you wonder though if they rate Kennedy so highly why didn't they give him a shot then

I think the team had downed tools for Lennon. It looked like a classic case of that. Any half decent manager should have been able to come in and sort it.

I’m fairly sure this is true too.

The feeling I get is since Lennon came in there’s been a steady decline in standards and following the pandemic it became a total riot. Someone on this forum said the 'muscle memory' of Rodgers was gone after that, and I think that best summed up what happened.

When Lennon cost the team the Champions League qualification and then tried to blame them he went too far. Particularly when he tried to say several didn’t want to be here. A lazy lie that protected himself and shifted supporter blame to the players.

From that point on I think several players knew this season would be a disaster if Lennon was not replaced.

I still think Brown should’ve done more. He should’ve stepped up and told Lawwell that the dressing room wasn't happy with the manager or his methods. Maybe he did, but I suspect he stayed sheepishly quiet and hoped for a hun collapse. After all, any new manager would almost certainly have dropped him permanently.

I will remember this from this season regarding Lennon.

The fans have a sense of entitlement.
The cup final being dedicated to Lawwell & Desmond.

Shocking from Lennon. Tells you all you need to know about him.

100% they downed tool's and relationships were strained/broken for me..

You can see in a lot of training ground smudges that the player's look happier and are smiling again..

The problem is, although they've got some weight lifted off their shoulders, Kennedy is showing he isn't a good manager. He has shown that he is exactly as Lennon was, stubborn and loyal to certain player's. Has no plan b. Bizzare subs etc etc..

    He needs to go..

If the players downed tools because of Lennon, then why was he fine to manage them last season? I wish someone came out with explanations regarding dressing room events this season.

Was quite an eye opener yesterday. Was like Lennon never left. Even if Kennedy thought what Lennon had been doing was good, why would you emulate that so exactly when he got the bullet for his failings?

So * embarrassed because of absolute idiocy from the management and the board.

I still don’t believe the players downed tools, to be honest.

One or two have looked like they want a move away. But for the most part, I think the players have absolutely zero confidence because of the standard of the coaching team and Lennon when he was in charge.

If you go through the usual match day squad player by player, who genuinely plays like they don’t care?

Odsonne, Christie, Ajeti after an initial run of games where he looked focused.

Players who cared: Soro, Turnbull, Ajer, Elyounoussi (at least a bit), Welsh.

Any half decent player shouldn’t be downing tools either in any season whether they hate/disagree with the manager let alone the going for 10 season

Haven’t really given him a second thought since he’s left.

Won’t forgive him for this season and placing his ego over the best interests of the club.

He’s a thing of the past. All focus should be on the future.

But if they do, do it in * October so we still have a chances to win tge league. Our players gave up but didn't even have the guts to force out the manager. The least you can ask from such a bunch of * who just give up a record 10 without a fight. *

Yes definitely. I cannot understand it myself. Out of pride I wouldn't care if I despised my manger I would want to win everything, I hate getting beat at 5s. Maybe the mentalities are different in foreign guys or just elite level players in general.
It might not even be a case of "I'm not playing for him" just the whole atmosphere being minging if they'd had enough of him and it being more of a "ill play but I'm not busting a gut for him" maybe being more greedy and that at times (everyone for themselves). Dunno but something wasn't right and anyone could see it needed change desperately and they did * all.

Aye, seems that was unprofessional and he was probably told as much as he said nothing when asked next time..

I guess it put unnecessary pressure on both the player and Wednesday.

Probably desperate to impart a quantum of good news.

I suspect it was part of his, “I’ll be here next season” trolling.
