He definitely isn't holding the club to ransom. He won't even get that much of a pay off he's in the role to the end of the season I'm pretty sure he's only on a one year rolling contract so all this pish about him waiting for a big pay day is bollocks.

The board want him in position for some reason that isn't clear yet.

The guy has basically been running on empty since before Christmas. The whole season has been a disaster and he's been left there when he should have been relieved after the Sevco game at the latest.

The club has been run poorly for a good while now no plan and it's obvious to everyone.

 

See this is the thing and a really good point. If he walked then the blame for this whole mess would lie squarely at his door.

The board don't want to sack him as that would mean its their fault in appointing him in the first place.

The players have went all in and clearly stopped playing for him, they thought by doing so he would have been sacked. That they, would have had time to turn this around and be forgiven by the fans (all Lennons Fault)

That's not happened, so we now have a mexican stand off......Lennon, Board and Players.. who blinks first?

 

There he is, alive and well, employed, fielding questions about transfers

 

No doubts he will be talking about how excited he is for the rebuild this summer again.

Most will agree this season is a goner outwith the scottish cup , but these clowns have not only fecked this season but by failing to act have made next season a thankless task for whoever does come in !!
We obviously need a new manager, umpteen players have to come in and go out what chance does a new manager/ CEO have to have us ready for a start to a new season nevermind Europe ?
We go into next season as usual not anywhere near prepared its an absolute disgrace again from desmond and lawwell , buisnessmen my * ......Lenny never say youre a celtic man again btw, feckin guiser !!

 

The only thing that makes any sense to me is that they decided to clear house completely this summer, so Lawell and Lennon replaced, and they're dumping as much of the squad as they can in the Lennon era, so they've a blank slate for the new guy and can blame everything on Lennon. A smaller squad, with a ball of cash in the bank, so they can make it appealing to a new guy.

Nothing else really makes financial sense. No reason they'd deliberately drive down the clubs value, unless they intend to actually sell up the club, as a lower price would make it look a sweeter deal to an investor. Can't see that though, as it's a pretty sweet little earner for financial investors, as we return easy dividends every year.

Or... we're actually * financially with the covid19 * and we don't have a lot of options. Let's face it, these are absolutely unprecedented times
