I've resigned myself that NL staying will be staying till the end of the season. We will probably get an announcement around about season ticket renewal time to say that he will be stepping down at the end of the season to be replaced by a marquee manager to get us all excited, get the fans back on board and take our cash as usual.

I've heard people say this kind of thing before, that the signings aren't his players.

This makes no sense to me, can't see how the manager can't have at least a major input in the players brought in.

You say that but I would honestly recommend watching si ferry with Joe Ledley. Ledley certainly didn't want to leave and we all know Lennon very much so rated Ledley so who decided we were letting him go?

Then we know about the situation with Rodgers and shved.

Then we have the likes of benyu, bayo, amido balde's etc. For me managers don't want to sign a player that they have no intention of playing.

Time is definitely up for Lennon but their has been something really broken about how we identify targets for quite some time. Their is also some shocking exits over the years. Like Ledley. Didn't we get something like 500k for him? He eventually went on to be a euros semi finalist and we let him go for that.

Regardless of who the manger is, more power needs to be given to the man in charge of the team when recruiting.

Tbh I feel like MON might have been the last manager to really have near total control of recruitment. I might be well wide of the mark, I might be spot on. Who knows....

Ledley wanted to run his contract down so we punted him when he had 6 months left on it

Hence saying watch the si ferry and Joe Ledley interview. Ledley offers a different take on that one!
