Neil Lennon: "fans let us down"

Lennon on some fans from game last night:

"I'm very disappointed; they have let me down, they have let the board, players and staff down and 99.9% of the support down," said the manager.
"My only surprise is that they got the spelling (on the banner) right."

Having questioned the intelligence of those who produced the banner, Lennon added: "The team covered themselves in glory last night and yet there is a rogue element who keep tarnishing the name of the club.

"The ironic thing is normally in the past when we come away from European games away from home we talk about how the team haven't done themselves justice and the fans always do.Now we are talking about the opposite."

He hits the nail on the head in my opinion. Bound to annoy a minority but good on him

 

The very ones that stood by him all last season when he desperately needed him and where is he when they need him? Selfish man.

It's not even so much about the statement, but the snidey remark about spelling?

Little fed up of these comments from Lennon. Fast losing my support.

That's not to acknowledge the board of directors role in this.

His comments don't bother me too much, he's probably got to come out and condemn it as the manager, but the spelling dig? At his own fans no less? The same fans that have stood by him through thick and thin. Disgraceful.

 

Listen I love Lenny as much as the next guy but I'm utterly disgusted by this and some recent snide remarks. It just feels like such a slap in the face for last season.

 

Shocking comments from someone who's whole managerial career is down to the support he received from them.


Btw we have just named and banned the fan for life who put up the banner.

 

Sorry but I think that he's right. I refuse to bow down to the many on here who're justifying that banner and behaviour that puts our club in a bad light. I'm starting to feel like there are 2 types of celtic fans. I. The confrontational always looking for attention and 2. the fans who simply want to enjoy the game for what it is. Fed up to the back teeth with all this rubbish. As someone in a previous thread said why can't we all just be Celtic supporters together?

His teams been put out of another competion , yet he wants to have a dig at the fans who traveled thousands of miles to support his team. thats three times this season hes been sticking the knife in the fans side, just to please lawwell and co. He's lost my respect. Sounds like a hun.

 

Support the team.
