Had nadir played he wouldn't have had any impact, the score line would have been the same and the only difference is everyone would be slating cifti. It would be all his fault we didn't score too.

He isn't good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near our squad never mind starting 11 - injuries, bans or otherwise

Guess if he aint registered then that's that, however if we have only 2 registered strikers then that's a brass, and if we have another he shoulda played.

As for if he played it wouldn't have made a difference, I don't follow that logic, everyone is assuming that's the best Rosenborg have to offer, who says so?

Do we not get a chance to register one extra player before the deadline? Same as what we did with Ntcham against Linfield?

What he might have offered, even off the bench, was basic striker's positioning. One of the reasons we were so toothless last night was that a defensive midfield player was marking Rogic, allowing the left centre-half to offer back-up on Sinclair. The other centre-half, Regginiussen, was then made to look like Franco Baresi, spending the evening mopping up misplaced passes and crosses to nobody.
Ciftci might have had least given him something to do and pushed their back 4 even deeper when we attacked, opening up space for others around the edge of the box. They defended along the edge of the penalty area because we never got in behind, and never had a target pushing them deep. We made it easy for them.
Thirty minutes of Nadir Ciftci isn't going to frighten anybody, let's be honest, but basic positioning might have opened up some space.

In hindsight, Ciftci would have been the better option up front. He has a bit of muscle about him so would have had more presence and his link up play isn't so bad from what I remember. Could have worked well with Rogic in behind.

Probably wouldn't have scored but having a striker in our normal playing system would probably have created chances for others to score.

Don't think it's that ridiculous of a suggestion.

Dembele did nothing of note against Linfield but he battled away and kept defenders busy and that gave the rest of the attacking players time and space.

I think we would have done better with him playing.

    * if needs be. He has to play. Just to let all our other players play where they usually do and hope they can do something

Exactly. Had he played and didn't score - everyone would moan about it and said "should have played rogic up top, least he has ability to hold the ball up"

Yeah even balls that were trying to be put in from the wings. I was looking and half of the time there was no one sniffing in their box. Need a player to unlock that defence, jamesy and McGregor done this well at times last season. * we miss young Patrico.

    He won't play.

The fact Rodgers said he 'doesn't have a striker available' sums up how highly he rates this guy.

Yeah,I was surprised McGregor didn't get some look in as he just drives straight at goal and can suck defenders in. Sometimes it is completely ineffective against teams sitting deep but nothing else was working either!

Don't buy into this idea we would've been worse, or the same, with him playing. If he played, as bad as he is, it would've allowed the attacking midfielders to drop back into their comfort zone and given the Rosenborg defence something to think about, instead of just having the freedom of the final third.

I still scratch my head at who sanctioned a move for the big Turk. He was never gonna be a fit here, too heavy and cumbersome to start. Obviously not his fault, * in that situation, who wouldn't sign? But it was a serious waste of time and money. Same as the Balde and Pukki signings. If they were all John Park recommendeds, thank * he moved on. Although I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for."

I can understand the Balde and Pukki signings, when you are looking for bargains it becomes a lucky dip, but he never looked good enough; even when playing well against us. That is before we get to his lunatic streak. £1.5 million and all. Dundee United saw us coming a mile off.
