Marseille are set to to test Celtic with a £13.5million bid for Moussa Dembele - according to reports in France.

The striker was linked with a move to the Ligue 1 giants earlier this year but no formal approach was made.

Marseille saw a move for former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli fail to materialise last month.

According to French newspaper l'Equipe, OM will again turn to Dembele in their quest to land a new striker.

Having bagged 50 goals in 91 appearances for Celtic , the 22-year-old has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe.

He returned from a hamstring injury on Tuesday as Brendan Rodgers ' side crashed out of Champions League qualifying to AEK Athens.

Dembele joined Celtic from Fulham in 2016 and has featured prominently for the France U-21 side.

From the record, no chance we're accepting that, derisory bid and is too important to sell at this point.

First get that link tae *, not worth posting or even looking at what that * rag posts.

Secondly he’s not going anywhere unless it’s well over 20M, Daily * trying to unsettle the team once again.

They link Moussa then Tierney then Ntcham then repeat every * month.

He plays in Scotland and we are out of the Champions League we will get nowhere near what he is worth. Will be sold to make up for the CL short fall in cash. Ntcham will be next and Tierney next summer.

Why do we need to make up for not getting Champions league money this season? I am genuinely asking. I see this written in numerous places but not once have I seen why we actually need to sell anybody this season. I would think Boyata is out the door but that is for other reasons beyond that I do not see any reason why we need to sell any of our important players this summer. We have spent more or less nothing so far this summer when ins and outs are taken into account and have run at a profit for a few years now so why can't we just stay pat with the players we have for this season and try and get it right so that next summer this kind of mess does not get repeated.

I'm not personally saying that there is a short fall in cash but that will be the board party line when the best players are sold off over the next two/three windows. It's the same old same old. The club will still make a decent amount of cash if we get a good run in the Europa League. Lawwell and company will see that by spending £8million on Eduard that they invested in the team but I'm sure the sale of Armstrong and Sviatchenko will have covered that. Boyata will be sold at a cut price as nobody in their right mind will pay £9/10 million for a defender who can sign a pre-contract in January. We wouldn't pay Hibs their full asking price for McGinn who was in the same boat as DB yet we will expect other clubs to pay over the top for a very mediocre defender like Boyata.

That's actually not a bad idea.

See if * * Arsenal still want him,it's not as if we couldn't get someone else to do the job better.

It's not ALL his fault - but the lack of transfer activity is.We've got and have had serious money for years now and we've bought one player and some * * lights this season.

Hail Hail the Celts are here
If there is any truth in this and If they offer 18m, I’m sure the board would have a sit down.

Back to France? Unsure if Dembele would fancy that, but the wages would certainly be a tempter.

Hate to see him go but the lads got ambition and the recent negativity about the place may have him thinking nows the right time?

That, and the fact that any more injuries and he’s under a spotlight, the “big” clubs may lose interest.

Hope it’s just bollocks and he stays fully fit for this whole season, smashing them in. Sell him for 20m next season to Everton or some other mid table Prem side.

Fair deal. We don’t need him for the league and we won’t have him fit all season anyway.

This is my worry about champions league exit. Players might not wanna hang around without it.
