    Riquelme was linked to us for few seasons, and not far removed from his prime either.

    Don’t think there was anything in it, but as far as rumours go it was tough to beat.

    Its a grand old team to play for
    I remember reading in the papers as a kid that we were linked with Mustapha Hadji as a replacement for Di Canio. Never thought much of it at the time but was gutted after watching him at France 98.

    Marc Vivien-Foé would have been amazing in O'Neill's team, had we pulled the trigger when we were linked with him before his untimely death.

    Jay-Jay OKocha was another one I was gutted we never followed through on. So good, they named him twice!

    the return of di canio ,mind we were playing the huns on a wed night all the chat in the pubs that day was he had signed and was playing ,spoofing *!

    Was excited about Sutton. I'm sure some folks probably had doubts about him after his barren spell at Chelsea but at the time felt like he could recapture his Blackburn form here. And he did imo.
