    “The rest of us”

You mean clueless * who are still judging him on his first 4 or 5 games a year ago?

    Keep at it then.

I know Starfelt isn’t without his flaws, but the way some idiots go on you’d think he was Efe Ambrose in disguise. He’s a good defender and consistently decent on the ball.

Starfelt was missed more than CCV yesterday. Balls into our box is where Starfelt is at his best. He is the one that wins the majority of the headers. Any ball into our box yesterday and we looked back to the days of Lennon.

I think a new centre back is a necessity now in January.
What about a new left back too ? Because we don't know if Bernabei will cut the mustard either.

He's not without his flaws, but he's got a lot of solid attributes already. Think he'll keep his spot now, even when Starfelt is fit.

Was leaving it to Welsh to move the ball out from the back if there wasn't anything obvious on. Was decent today but needs to take more responsibility.

When not under real pressure or there are several options he usually picks the better option yes. But from where I was sitting it looked like anytime that wasn't the case he left it up to Welsh to bring it out.

Not a huge criticism of him just more an observation of how he played yesterday. He has brought the ball out from the back in other games, but maybe felt more confident doing it with CCV.

I couldn't watch the game yesterday, but sounds like it may have been tactical? Jenz is pretty good at passing through the lines, so maybe he was tasked with passing from deep and Welsh more the ball carrier. Or perhaps he was kept back to help us better deal with any counter attacks, which is where we were exposed against St. Mirren (especially aerially)

Possibly, don't remember many passes from deep in all honesty but it might have been under instructions but maybe it was tactical.

His passing is excellent for me but that partnership with Welsh is stinking..

Feel like he needs to be more dominant..

I thought he was stinking tonight, I’m not sure he’s good enough. Even as backup.

He's had a few 50/50 games where you can see some of his better attributes, but he was absolutely honking tonight.

I still like him, and think he'll get better as the season goes on, but tonight was one to forget for him.

Needs to be learning beside CCV or even Starfelt. Get glimpses of a player in there every now and again but Needs to be beside someone better than Welsh.

Hardly a surprise that a guy not good enough for Lorient is flopping at Celtic.

Should’ve spent proper cash on another CB.

This is how I see it, same could be said for Welsh too.

Together they don't work, but next to a more experienced head I think they would both continue to improve.

    Not for me.

Welsh is young and naive and all that, he needs coached and mentored. * jenz probably as well, but together they are a * bombscare.

Unfortunately I think jenz is the worst for it and will be first one dropped as soon as either Starfelt or cvv are fit.
