Yeah 1st half he got caught under the ball a lot. 2nd half, much improved. He seems reasonably quick which is good.

Just watched Sportscene; he gave away a free kick on the edge of the box which Hart pulled off a great save - Jenz got booked for that foul; he then ran into the crowd after scoring and should have received a second booking and sent off - Obviously im not complaining but he was * lucky to stay on the field; can imagine the hurting huns will have a few things to say about it; no doubt the ref will be branded all the * * under sun lol :90:

Just seen the highlights and noticed he was beaten in the air for their goal and gave away a dangerous free kick on the edge which almost cost us a goal.

Passing was good and obviously redeemed himself with the goal, but jury still out defensively just now.

There’s definitely potential there though, has all the tools needed to be a cracking CB.

Absolutely not, his covering in behind was excellent. He’s absolutely here to directly compete with Starfelt. Maybe not as quick as Starfelt, but he’s not slow and seems much bigger and stronger.

Agree that we still need to see what he's like defensively. Yet to see their goal so not sure what he was like for that. The free kick that Hart made a cracking save from was down to Jenz looking a bit flat footed.

    But he's very composed.

MORITZ JENZ says it was a dream come true to score on his Celtic debut as he lapped up his side’s celebrations with their huge travelling support in Dingwall.

The German defender headed a crucial second goal for Celtic with just six minutes to go after Ross County’s Alex Iacovitti had cancelled out Kyogo’s opener for the visitors.

Liel Abada went on to score a third in stoppage time, capping off the perfect day for Jenz as he made his bow in Scottish football.

“It wasn’t a bad debut,” Jenz said. “It was amazing to play my first game in front of a fantastic away crowd. Then to score was like a dream come true.

We knew at 1-1 we had to win the game so I wanted to get in there and score the goal. In the end, it happened.

“You always hope to get on the end of the ball and I timed it well. I showed real desire to score the goal.

“Of course, you must have a good relationship with the fans because they back you up even in difficult moments. Today was difficult, we were pushed to the end, and they helped us.

“It was incredible to celebrate with them at the goal. I’ve always wanted to score in a British game and run into the crowd. There’s no stopping, you just run in with your emotions. It was amazing. It took some time to get out but I did”

Jenz now has his sights set on a regular place in the heart of the Celtic defence. Stephen Welsh missed this game through illness to hand him his opportunity, while Carl Starfelt was back on the bench following a hamstring injury.

“I need to continue to train hard and if I get the chance to play give my best,” he said.

“We all push each other to reach the highest level possible.

“It’s a team game. I’ll keep pushing and the coach will decide who plays.

“I’m looking forward to keep playing like that. I want to be confident and consistent this season.”

He got beat to the header. I feel like it either should have been saved or cleared though, not sure if Kyogo and Hart kinda expected each other to deal with it, soft goal

Really like the look of him, tough place to make debut..

If only he had jumped that high defending the County goal tho.. he should not be getting beaten in the air, the size of him..:56:

Huns have already started a thread about him not being sent off for running up to the crowd. Then complaining about the refs and sportscene being biased.

It was his first game for us. Second if you're including preseason.

He's not going to be another CCV bit if he's better than Starfelt, we've taken a step in the right direction.

For me not being super worried if a cb is out is a step in the right direction. Much of last season our 4th choice cb was a dm. At least now we have people pushing each other for spots
