Just wouldn’t rule Nate out against him. I’d pick Chandler.

Personally think Poirier, Gaethje, Oliveira and Chandler walk through him.

Felder, Hooker, Dos Anjos all beat him comfortably.

If Tony is even half the fighter he was he destroys him as well but that Gaethje beating is the type that fighters don’t come back from.

Nate is nowhere near the elite. A win against Conor has made people all of a sudden make out like he was some elite fighter.

It was embarrassing watching him against Masvidal.

At 155 Poirier is the only one I see good enough to actually go on a run and beat everyone in the division. (As he has done)

Gaethje, McGregor, Chandler, Oliveira all fight each other and I think it’ll probably be 50/50 results wise for all of them.

Poirier’s comments in the ring after he beat McGregor is a concern though if he’s really up for another run in the division.

I agree that he wouldn’t come in and rise to the top but I think you’re selling him a good bit short. He would be very competitive with most of these guys. His BJJ is some of the best ever seen in the division. He’d tangle with Oliveira on the ground and outbox him on the feet imo. When he was milled by RDA he wasn’t training much as far as I’m aware.

Tony has been put in real danger of losing by fighters not on Nate’s level such as Lee, Vannata. Again Nate is the better boxer and the better grappler and would give Tony all sorts of problems imo.

I’m probably Nate’s biggest fan on here but he’s just nowhere near the elite, and never has been. The McGregor victory has seriously distorted people’s opinion of him.

Take out the McGregor win and not one person is even mentioning him as a serious contender for 155. McGregor was overrated and hyped up unlike anything we’ve ever seen in the sport and Nate got the rub off of it.

You mention look stuff like look who Tony almost lost to, look who Nate has actually lost to.

In the last 10 years Nate’s only losses have been to 170 pounders and world champions.

In the last 10 years what 155 fights has he won? He came in at 160 against RDA and was giving one of the biggest beatings ever seen in an octagon.

Nate is a decent fighter but the reason he’s not ‘hunting’ is because he can’t wake weight and knows he’ll do nothing in that division.

If he ‘owned’ the division why would the 2 fights he’s wanting at welterweight be against lightweights :giggle1:?

Mate I’m not saying he owns the division that’s nonsense he’s not beaten anyone in the top 10 bar Conor :giggle1:

He came in at 160 against RDA.. again my point there was that he was not training for that fight and that’s backed up by him missing weight by so much.

He’s got a peculiar fighting style that wont match up well with guys like Poirier, RDA and Gaethje who can keep it standing and butcher his lead leg. However, he’s got an endless gas tank, an unbreakable chin, top class BJJ skills and is an excellent boxer relatively speaking. To pretend like he wouldn’t give guys like Felder and Ferguson a * of a fight is nonsense in my opinion. He never stood a chance against Masvidal.

If Burns doesn’t beat Usman this weekend then I can’t see anycunt even getting close to beating him for a long time.
