    I think this sort of deal would be guaranteed if Messi was a possible PSG incomer ... or if they’ve got sights set on another expensive acquisition.

    They’d be urgently trying to clear players off the books to try and get the ffp boxes ticked.

    CELTIC target Mitchel Bakker looks set to snub a move to Scotland to stay at PSG, according to reports.

    As SunSport reported on Sunday, Parkhead boss Neil Lennon was hoping to land the 20-year-old Dutchman on loan.



    The French giants are looking to allow the left-back the chance to get out and earn some first-team football.

    Lennon was keen to bring in the former Ajax youth academy star to challenge Scotland cap Greg Taylor for a starting place after Boli Bolinegoli’s fall from grace last month.


    The Belgian defender broke coronavirus restrictions as he headed to Spain for an overnight stay before not going into quarantine on his return.

    That has prompted the Celtic
    boss to look for reinforcements


    But according to Dutch journalist Thierry Boon, Bakker is keen to earn a place in Thomas Tuchel’s side this season and would prefer to stay in Paris.

    Meanwhile, the prospect of Mitchel Bakker joining Duffy in Glasgow’s East End looks even more remote after he went on the record to vow to fight for his place at PSG instead.

    The Hoops made an attempt to sign Dutch Under 21s left-back Bakker on loan from the Champions League runners-up.

    But the French 
champions rejected their first offer, with Celtic boss Neil Lennon desperate to add another left-back to his squad.

    And now former Ajax kid Bakker, 20, has made it clear he has no intention of 
leaving Paris for Glasgow.

    He said: “I haven’t heard about Celtic but I want to stay with PSG and my 
hope is to get even more playing time.

    “When I look around at the club I see players like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. And I am playing with them.”
