I'll always remember him for owning the huns in this match, at castle greyskull nonetheless....

(He also scored a hat trick against dundee utd when we won 3-2 at Tannadyce and each goal was an absolute peach, if any ones got a link?)

But this one....* fantastic. Could watch this OooOOOoover and Ooooooover (pun intended)

After his loan finished I'd never been so separate for Celtic to sign a player permanently. Deserved an spl winners medal for his contribution but unfortunately that wasn't meant to be. Actually he might still get one.:smiley-laughing002:

I think of Robbie Keane when ye say that.

Bellamy couldve easily got player of the season for his contribution that season....he was absolutely different class...deadly!

I always thought those two really established and confirmed the absolute gulf in class between the EPL and the SPL.

I was always just glad it was US who enjoyed the benefits of that difference in quality in recent years.

You never know....maybe big Carlton Cole will do a Robbie Keane in the 2nd half of this season. Knock in 15/20?

Yeah, I was also so desperate to get him on a permanent contract when his loan expired. He was just different class. Keane was up there with him too.

That goal was beautiful. Great moment.

For me, it's dampened a bit and loses a wee bit of glimmer given we didn't win the league :54:

Wish we got a few year out of him, he was world class on his day.

    Yep, likewise.

I knew soon as we got him, he'd do a grand job, but boy was he good.

So sad we never got him, I remember people blamed Bellamy for not wanting to stay, but that in fact was not the case, as sure it was Celtic TV or at least something like that, Gordon Strachan was talking and said he was interested in the move, but couldn't put all his eggs in one basket and that's why we got the likes of Boruc, Naka etc etc.

Was disappointed with that league disappointment though, day before my wedding too................ouch!

I remember him and big Sutty, missing a glorious chance each.

Seriously wish he could have came up here for good.

Would have became a legend here, no doubt for me. Had that affiliation with the fans and someone who I have always liked and followed, even when he was playing down south. A guy who would always give 100 percent.

Wouldn't have minded seeing him and Keane up top..gone are the days of those kind of players gracing CP, though. :54:

I mind we were constantly linked with Bellamy under Lennon for a good 3 transfer windows on the trot.

Aye, £5,-£6m was all the wanted back then aswell. Think he would have cost £30k a week to. But it seemed pretty much a no brainer, not as if it was a gamble you knew he could do the business.

Doubt he would have stayed long mind. :smiley-laughing002:

Read some where that when we were trying to sign him he couldn't afford to take the drop in wages as he funded a village in Africa with his wage and also there was his pull towards Cardiff

That game he scored two I think against Man Utd. Run the show that day. Ahhhh, the good old days. These days Belamy wouldn't even come watch us.

Think that's when we were beginning to realise we couldn't sustain those type of wages though...even though Strachan then went on to bring in the likes of Gravesen and Keane on £40k plus per week:smiley-laughing002:
