CELTIC and Swansea City are on the trail of St Johnstone star Michael O’Halloran.SunSport understands both clubs watched the attacker in Friday’s 1-1 draw with Dundee.

O’Halloran has been in outstanding form and was recently tipped for a Scotland call-up.Now Saints gaffer Tommy Wright could face a fight to keep hold of his prized asset during January’s transfer window.O’Halloran, 24, still has 18 months left on his contract after penning a one-year extension during the summer. But interest is mounting in the versatile forward after a string of superb displays for Saints.

The Hoops watched him on Friday night and Ronny Deila may try to add him to a growing number of Scots in his squad.O’Halloran started his career at Parkhead but left for Bolton at 16 — before returning to Scotland in 2014.

His pace, power and finishing has attracted Celtic but Premier League Swansea are also keen.Their scouts were also at McDiarmid Park to see O’Halloran set up David Wotherspoon’s equaliser.

Another SPfL standard player, just what we need.

He wouldn't improve us. He is no better than Ciftci, and he isn't good enough either.

He's not a striker. Usually plays just in behind if on a wing. He's got genuine pace. I'd take him.

Although in saying that, we should be looking further a field, but as far as SPFL players, he's about the best

We already have an abundance of players that can play on the wings, I haven't seen much of him but I doubt he would improve us

This is a sure fire way to make sure we won't ever progress in Europe, hardly any of our signings from the league have become integral to us, let's be honest.

We missed the boat with the likes of McCarthy, Robertson and Russell, but I don't think of this guy in the way I do of them.

5 goals and 9 assists in 19 matches for St. Johnstone this season is not bad tbf, but it's hard to get excited about this.

Another one for me to go under bullshit! We are due to play them soon so we go and Scout their team and he is the form player so the rag of a tabloid has us linked to him lazy journalists at its best again!

He's flying just now but then so was McGinn a couple seasons ago and he wasn't good enough.

He's not bad but we've got enough SPFL players.
