We dodged a bullet, a £13M bullet. I'm not going to say, I did try to warn you. But I did.:BR1:

Would be a waste of money when we've got japan's best striker at the club.

There's absolutely no way of knowing how it would have turned out for him here. Pointless trying to claim we dodged a bullet.

Hopefully it’s a minor injury but enough to give Brondby a fright and realise they need to be more reasonable.

No idea if this is true

However, CeltsAreHere has been informed by a reliable source that Kvistgaarden’s contract contains a buyout clause that becomes active in the summer. The clause reportedly drops his price to under £10 million, with figures in the region of £8 million being touted. This substantial reduction could tempt Celtic to renew their efforts to bring the Danish forward to Glasgow.

Celtsarehere are the go to for the club now

They've been at the heart of a few things over the past wee while

Celtic’s long-standing interest in Mathias Kvistgaarden could be set for a dramatic summer twist. The Brøndby striker has been on the Parkhead radar for several years, with many supporters expecting the club to make a move in January after Kyogo Furuhashi secured a transfer to Rennes. However, no new striker arrived before the window slammed shut, leaving many fans questioning the club’s decision-making.

Kyogo’s departure marked the end of an era. The Japanese forward had been the focal point of the Celtic attack for three and a half years, scoring crucial goals and leading the line with distinction. After helping Celtic secure a spot in the Champions League knockouts, he was granted his wish to leave for Ligue 1 side Rennes, who are battling to stay afloat in France’s top tier.

However, CeltsAreHere has been informed by a reliable source that Kvistgaarden’s contract contains a buyout clause that becomes active in the summer. The clause reportedly drops his price to under £10 million, with figures in the region of £8 million being touted. This substantial reduction could tempt Celtic to renew their efforts to bring the Danish forward to Glasgow

The clause structure is a growing trend in modern football. Clubs and players often agree on contracts that include specific windows where buyout clauses kick in. This allows clubs to protect their assets in the short term while providing the player with a future exit route.

Kvistgaarden’s potential arrival could add significant firepower to a Celtic front line that. With Kyogo gone, there’s a clear need for a proven goal scorer to lead the line, and Kvistgaarden fits the profile Celtic have been tracking.

That said, Celtic won’t have a free run at the striker. If they’re aware of this contractual clause, so too will other clubs across Europe. Should interest intensify, it may come down to who can offer the best personal terms to the player.

For now, Brendan Rodgers’ focus remains on wrapping up the title and preparing for a Scottish Cup semi-final against St Johnstone. Another treble remains a possibility if the Hoops navigate the coming weeks and months successfully.

But eyes will certainly drift towards what could be a significant summer of recruitment at Celtic Park.

Would need to keep an eye on his injuries and make sure that isn’t a recurring problem. If not he would be a good pick up at a price like that given his versatility.

He's had a number of injuries in the last year.
And if that report is true, they have been forced to drop their asking price from £13M to £8M because nobody is biting.

We don't need him, we've got Maeda, Idah and Kenny.

We definitely need another ST, ideally someone like him who can play along the front 3..

There's literally nothing to say either way if Kenny has a future with us, zero evidence yet..

And the jury is still out on Idah

Kenny has not had much of a chance to show what he is capable of, tbh. So hard to pass judgement on him at this stage, but I would say he has shown potential in the fleeting appearances we have seen of him so far. A third striker may be needed, but too early to be certain I think, we will have a better idea at the end of the season, especially if we see more of Kenny between then and now.

The jury is still out on Idah ?

He's already paid back his transfer fee with his Cup Final and League exploits last year. Cemented it with his Champions League play off winner, two brilliant goals against Villa, and his sealing the deal Cup winner against an inform Hibs.

14 goals as a No.2 striker too, not bad going by any accounts.

    Jury still out ?

Kenny is never staying here beyond the summer. I think we can all see that..

You'd need to tell him he's 100% first choice no matter what.

Only problem is the only way I think we keep Maeda past the summer is telling him he'll be first choice at ST.

Tricky one, getting Kvistgaarden and keeping both Maeda and Kuhn would be incredible, with Jota in the mix too.

I don’t think anyone will come in being told they are first choice. The fact Kvistgarden can play across the front line is an advantage he could probably even play as a 10 if we went 4-2-3-1. He largely plays as an inverted winger/ dual 10 in the Brondby system of 3-4-2-1 and played as a second striker before when they played 2 up top. He also plays wide for the Danish U21 side and has done at club level too.

On the dropping of his asking price the report says this is due to a clause in his contract that kicks in during the summer.

If this proves a small injury and he can largely stay fit to the summer I would still be keen to get him in.

I also think Kuhn may go in the summer.

It’s blindingly obvious that Kenny has no future here. Stop trying to kid yourself.

And the jury is still very much out on Idah. He was our second choice striker. We sold our first choice, and he’s still second choice.

Not shown anywhere near enough this season.
