Frankie Boyle's more my speed, really. Luaghing at racism rather than with it. Roy Chubby Brown has this whole anti-Islam thing that I can't see the humour in at all.

I maintain that laughing at stereotypes is harmless though. Everybody knows that stereotypes aren't true, which is why they are jokes rather than genuine racism.

Back to the topic at hand; the Kim Bo Kyung comments were out of order. One of the main talknig points about MacKay and Tan's fall out was Kim's signing which aparently Malky didn't agree with. Now we know why.

Edit: I have no idea who Bernard Manning is. Before my time, maybe?

Do you think he will work again if these comments are true?

Much worse than Ron Atkinson imo, and he was finished as a manager.

If they're true, especially considering that the Kim transfer was part of his falling out with Tan, it does not make him look good. The English FA are investigating - if they come to the conclusion that he is guilty of making racially abusive comments, no self-respecting club in Britain will take him. And to think he could've been the Celtic manager right now.

It would explain the breakdown in talks with Crystal Palace. Maybe Lawwell knew about this so that's why he never got the Celtic job? Who knows.

Yeah, it looks like Crystal Palace are cutting all involvement with him. As for Lawwell knowing, I wouldn't surprised. The Unseen * Hand knows no bounds :56:.

The gay snake (whatever the * that means :smiley-laughing002:) comment is going to be a big issue as well. 8 years ago nobody would care, but times have changed. The bad press a team would get for hiring a racist homophobe will put off most sides in Europe.

People are comparing this to Suarez, saying that racism didn't ruin his career. There's a difference though; Suarez was found guilty purely on Evra's word. And in South America they call blacks Negroes (cause that means black in Spanish and Portuguese) so it could have been a misunderstanding due to the language barrier.

The case with Mackay is different - there's no ambiguity. If these texts are genuine, then he's racist and homophobic. There's no real argument against that. Suarez is world class and might be racist. Mackay is mediocre and is racist (if found guilty). It's a career-ender in modern Britain. I'm sure he could get a job in Russia or the Middle-East (people there aren't overly fond of gays or blacks, it would seem).

Tan was excoriated last season for his handling of Cardiff.
Mackay was suing Cardiff for unfair dismissal and then ends up apologising to them.
    He's done.

Career over - Tan has obviously been sitting on this waiting for him to get a new gig, and dropped the bomb at precisely the right time.

I suspect the "black monopoly" one was probably more hurtful for his future career chances.:smiley-laughing002:
