He's shown enough in the latter part to get a better move than a loan back to Poland..

There's no money in that for us. The championship in England or somewhere else for a sale..

    Nawrocki
    Lagerbielke
    Welsh

That should really be bringing in around 6 mill or so for all..

I know we are another year on but he was meant to have turned down a move back to Legia last summer.

Sell him. Loan no good and obviously not in the reckoning for Rodgers. Not at all impressed myself.

Anything else is just running down his contract.

Don't think he's done much wrong when he's been involved.
Hope he moves on and does well, just not to be here it seems.

Too slow and for his build a bit weak.Would prefer to sell as he is also a bit injury prone, which may curtail any chance of a sale when he gets injured after a month.

Never seen him being weak, dominates in the air and he’s definitely not slow. His main weakness that’s kept him out the team is his ability on the ball, but I wouldn’t say he’s worse than Scales on that part either. Miles ahead of Welsh and deserved to stay in the team ahead of Scales & Trusty end of season.

Injuries have been an issue for sure.

Weird as I would say his ability on the ball is one of his best attributes. He's really crisp with his passing.

I agree though I don't get the slow argument. If he's slow then what the * is Scales.

His main issue is he's better as a RCB.. so gets limited game time because of CCV.. for me his passing can look awkward when he plays left side of the defence..

We need to add another quality CB as question marks remain over, Trusty, Scales and Nawrocki.. with Welsh and Lagerbielke not good enough. We should send Murray out on loan to another Premiership side too.

Definitely looks far more comfortable and passing is much better at rcb and given CCV regular injury issues hes definitely be worth keeping.

Far better option than playing Trusty, a guy not deemed good enough to play his own position at rcb.

First few games he played he looked slow. Was having to go into important tackles late because of it. That was at RCB too I'm pretty sure.

Maybe thats what people are remembering. Can't remember it being quite like that the few times recently he played.

This just feels like a Rodgers ego thing. Nawrocki has played better than Scales when he's played this year but because Rodgers made that comment about Scales being the biggest surprise of his career or whatever he refuses to drop him.

It’s the only explanation I can think of that both Ange & Rodgers kept him out the team for. A lot of his passes are rocketed into a teammate, which can be good but I do remember some poor passing especially when he’s on the left side.

I would still take that trade off though for his defensive ability, similar to Starfelt.

I mean Scales has played excellently for us in several spells but his form always seems to dip 2nd half of the season. It’s similar with Sinisalo being dropped when he didn’t put a foot wrong.

BR when he signed claimed him as one of his in no uncertain terms. Said about him playing against Leicester, impressed him, kept his eye on him since…

There was a decent outlay fee wise for him. Ego wise, Rodgers making sure it works out for him here is something that makes him look better.

Last season BR got spiky about players being available and keeping fit, almost outright saying he felt some players could play but ruled out injuries. I think that is harsh but BR’s always been big on availability as a player week in and out is hand in hand with professionalism. I don’t quite agree with that, injuries are part and parcel of the game.

Nawrocki last season, he had a big injury then was ruled out after an appearance on the bench with a knock, would get on the bench then another knock. And unfairly to my mind, Rodgers has wrote him off as unreliable.

He done it with Iwata that, reading between the lines of some of his interviews. Nawrocki at least, I don’t think he’s the type to rule himself out with a slight bit of pain, I think he’s one that would need to actually be unable to play through injury to not be available. His attitude screams that for me

Nawrocki from Celtic to Ekstraklasa. Director confirms talks

Celtic Glasgow player Maik Nawrocki may join Pogoń Szczecin. Portowcy managing director Tan Kesler has confirmed.

Nawrocki came to Scotland from Legia Warsaw for 5 million euros. There were high hopes for him, but the Pole did not live up to them. In the previous season of the Scottish Premier League, he played only three matches, although he was praised for them

It seems that his adventure in the West will not last long. He may move to Szczecin. Information about the talks was confirmed by the club's director Tan Kesler. It is not clear what kind of transfer the Porters will decide on, but the most likely option is a loan.

Nawrocki joined Legia in June 2021, when he was loaned from Werder Bremen reserves. The capital club then decided to buy him and signed a contract with him until the end of the 2024/25 season. In July 2023, he was sold to Celtic.

While with Legia, Nawrocki won the Polish Cup and Super Cup.

If we can't punt then a straight loan with no option..

I'd rather we pushed to get him a loan to the Bundesliga 2 or something considering he was born there, a lot of clubs scout it well and he'd count as a homegrown signing over there..

Would much rather he spent a season in the English Championship tbh if we insist on loaning him out.

Much like Tilio, sending him back to a league we already know he does well in seems a bit pointless.

It looks like another poor, and frankly lazy, loan; It’s like us constantly punting Tillo back to Australia - who, granted, was arguably bad business form the off.

Fair enough if no one else is biting, but in both cases it’s a been there, done that type deal with arguably little to be gained in terms of development (if that’s even a factor, which I doubt) and there’s realistically very little chance of us making any sort of appreciable money back from the teams they’re being loaned too. As @McChiellini.. said, if he’s being loaned out we should be pushing for something like a decent Bundesliga 2 side or even a bottom end Serie A/upper Serie B side - with no option.

I have to be honest though, the way he’s been used, or not used in his case, rubs me the wrong way.

Perhaps there’s something we’re not privy too and maybe he isn’t good enough, or at least just not suited to us, in the long run, but his performances towards the end of the season absolutely warranted more of a chance than he was given. Trusty & Scales both had their fair share of good and/or great performances for us this season, particularly in Europe, but in the latter stages of the domestic campaign, Nawrocki was absolutely looking the more assured of the three. You can argue the reasons why, be it his comparative freshness or whatever, but he absolutely came in out of the cold and looked solid as rock.

It’s hard, for me at least, to see it as anything other than an instance of favouritism winning out over merit.

Would be gutted if sold for a million or so.
As others have said, started to look very good lately - certainly better than Scales.
I'd keep him for sure, backup to Trusty and CCV and inventively getting a good few games as CCV injury/rest cover.

The back 4 I think is in good shape, not a priority to change it - assuming Rodgers stops the favouritism and plays the best players.
