Lacking playing time at OL, Mahamadou Diawara has an offer from Celtic Glasgow, qualified for C1. Other clubs are interested in the young 19-year-old midfielder including L1 clubs (Nantes, Lens etc...). #Mercato #OL

The lucky draw of this transfer window could well be Mahamadou Diawara . Used 11 times by Pierre Sage last season, the 19-year-old midfielder remains one of the great hopes of the 2005 French generation, and it is also for this reason that OL did not hesitate to extend his contract this summer. But in a sector as crowded as Lyon , it is difficult to make a mark. In June, Nantes had positioned itself by making a loan offer with an option to buy for the player, but it did not go any further

However, things could change in the coming days... According to our information, a foreign club qualified for the Champions League, but whose identity has not been disclosed, is very interested in the profile of the French U19 international. At the same time, RC Lens has also checked his name off a shortlist of midfielders, a sector that should empty by the end of the transfer window. If Andy Diouf or Stijn Spierings leave, Lens should speed up the process. Also worth seeing is Diawara's position, as he is still performing well despite his limited playing time

He looks really quick and full of drive in that short video.

6' 2' and a product of Paris St Germain's academy for 5 years.

Looks a better prospect than Sanches to me.

im guessing Eddy was a project as well not all younger players are projects. This could be another master stroke of a signing if it’s a loan with an option. Our hit rate with them and French players is pretty good

Yeah true mate but we need first team ready players with experience, I'm not against project signings infact we need them as a club but as long as we strengthen the first 11. At the moment it's not looking great. I'll hold off on any outbursts till the window closes but right now we need better..

He looks promising. A loan with an option to buy like we had with Jota and Bernardo would be great.

I’d rather him over Sanches. If we lose O’Riley, but bring in Bogusz, Engels and Diawara then I think that’s the perfect example of this model working.

If O'Riley leaves and we get him and Engles, I'll be happy with that.

    Midfield of:

    CalMac
    Hatate
    Engles
    Bernardo
    Diawara
    Iwata
    Holm

    Looks promising

    Would definitely take.

I'd even punt Holm on loan and sell Iwata as at the formers stage of his career he can't be a 6th choice midfielder. He needs games.

Would then bring in this guy loan to buy so no fee this summer then Sanches and Engels. Won't work that way ofcourse as I caveat with most of my transfer related posts.

I watched a video of Sanches last night and it was actually quite impressive. Seems to go by players with ease at times and has some pace. Definitely would now like us to get him tbh.

Hard to tell from the limited footage there is of him but he certainly fits the profile of midfielder we could be doing with to complement what we have. Looks to have the well documented pace and power to drive forward, seems to be able to do both sides of the game in breaking up play and contributing going forward.

Although very different players, I could see him performing a role similar to Hatate did under Ange where he played a bit deeper than O’Riley and looked to get on the ball and get us up the park. He would be an interesting different option doing that.

I did say yesterday I think loan to buy options will come in to replace outgoing stars so the money spent on replacements isn’t as much of a gamble
