Should probably have said subs mate. Why he took Ajeti off for an Edouard who's not played in a month is baffling. Especially as Ajeti was a major threat to Lille.

Also would love to know what Ntcham has on Lennon

 

Aye but hopefully we can be on 7 points by then and they * both games vs milan giving us an easy game vs milan.

 

Would have took 2-2 before game but still a bit disappointed. If only Christie hadn't let the guy slip behind him for their 1st and if only Mo had finished when through on the keeper just after Lille scored. Still good performance overall and for the most part we defended well. Hopefully we build on this, especially the better defending.

 

You can't help but feel disappointed squandering a 2 goal lead. In truth they upped the pressure and tempo and we struggled.

Showed signs of life in the first half at least, and a good result that I didn't expect.

 

1st half was everything we have wanted.

2 half was pish. Absolute pish. Shocking in game management, use of subs and some baffling desicions on the counter as well. Would have taken a point of offered, but still feels like we * it for ourselves. Infuriating.

 

The fact so many are complaining we didn't win tonight against a team that all in all should beat us shows we are getting back on track. On to the sheep next and hopefully into the cup final

Overall a good result, if we had been in form before the game you would have been happy predicting taking a point. A point away to Lille who have been playing excellent in the French league is a good result. In saying that, after the first half performance it could have been much more. Christie found wanting at the first goal, player sat behind him and he didnt track him. I think the changes that were made were the correct ones, Ntchamp and Christie were blowing out their arses however I think they were maybe 5 or 10 minutes too late. The second goal could have been prevented if changes had been made earlier.
They are a quality team and had us pinned back most of the second half but we still hade a few chances of winning it, Ely had a chance to put Frimpong through, Frimpong had a chance to put Eddy through and a few more. Ely was excellent through out as was Lax. Ajeti had a good game, lots of energy tracking back, finding a lot of space and holding it up when needed. He seemed disappointed coming off but he has to realise it is not all about being on the score sheet.

There are more positives to take out of that game than negatives, there was more desire and fight. Lennon was a bit more vocal giving out instructions. We were holding our defensive shape better, still errors but getting better. This leaves us in a far better position for the game against the Sheep on Sunday. Hail Hail

 

At this stage I just feel sorry for the team, their confidence must be near rock-bottom. 2 more points dropped regardless of how well or badly they played and the result is all that matters.
We always need wins but 4 games now without one - the next game is absolutely * humongous.

Improved performance but our defence still look fragile. Iwould have brought on Leigh Griffiths to add some energy up front in place of Eddy unless the boss wants to give him a run out before the semi final

 

Said before the game the result was not as important as the team improving. Have to be happy with first half, despite duffy. Lenny needs to stop sticking by the same players time and time again when they are clearly * after 60 mins and need taken off,or just completely off their game as some have in other games.
Make changes when we need them,not 20 mins to late.

 

That wasn’t exactly a weak team. They were only really missing Fonte and he’s old and slow.

Sanches changed the game a bit but Yilmaz wasn’t up to much and that’s all they really missed

 

Excellent point away from home in a very difficult fixture. Thought Laxalt was absolute class.

Genuinely thought he was decent!! He was absolutely punctured from 10 mons into 2nd half but up to then he did well i thought. 7/10 for me

 

turned off with 15 mns to go. could feel the lille equaliser coming and it * well did. awful. last two game we couldnt * see out.ntcham was * with 30 mins to go but stayed on the field . HH

He was good but his legs went and ge faded out in the 2nd half. But luckily you can make subs to combat that, if you have a manager who is awake
