    Paris Saint-Germain fans boo Neymar for denying Edinson Cavani record-breaking goal

    Cavani’s goal earlier in the game had drawn him level with PSG’s all-time top goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and a second strike would have made the Uruguayan the undisputed goal king of Paris.

    The forward was also the man to win the penalty after he was fouled in the box by Cedric Yambere.

    Despite the Paris crowd screaming for Cavani to have his moment, Neymar pulled rank and converted the penalty himself to grab his fourth goal of the night.

    Neymar’s celebration was short, but he was high-fived by Cavani as the crowd continued to voice their displeasure at his selfishness. PSG fans chanted ‘Cavani, Cavani’ as Neymar took the penalty, which seemed to upset the Brazil international.

    It was soft and the whole pulling at set plays thing is a huge inconsistency. A couple have been penalised today that 9 times out of 10 the defenders would have gotten away with. The authorities should concentrate on sorting this out before they * about with VAR.
