Great player just can't beat a man with the ball at his feet but play the ball through for him to latch onto and he's a weapon

I really liked his and Mikey's work winning the ball back for the Henderson goal

He's not one for taking a man on with the ball at his feet, he needs played in bcoz he's always looking to run in on the blind side, I think he could be an option playing through the middle if kyogo is out, technically I don't think he's very good and why I think he's not suited to playing as a winger (they need a trick or step over) unless he's slid in to then deliver into the box.

I'd actually like to see him take more corners whenever he plays. First time in a while I felt we were genuinely threatening with balls into the box from there. Hits them with nice pace and height.

Pointed this out in another post but we had about 5/6 6 foot plus players out there, it’s no surprise that defending corners and attacking corners we were much, much better. He was good, but don’t think he’s better than Turnbull’s. Problem is Turnbull has very little to aim at.

Point about height is something I've said before. It's what worries me with Starfelt and CCV both being relatively small for CB's. Bit more height is needed, Scales gives that even from LB.

Inconsistency with a just turned 20 year old winger who's played most minutes since arriving in a new country isn't surprising, though

He's well on track for double figures in goals and assists and its only mid December almost.

Especially with Ralston out, he’s not actually all that tall but probably between him and CCV for the best in the air.

Or else, it really shouldn’t be.

I just feel like some are being really harsh with him.

He's literally just turned 20 and is learning his trade in a new country playing a very demanding system. 27 appearances already this year since July, 7 goals and 8 assists, isn't bad.

Aye he's inconsistent but 20 year old Forrest was the whipping boy of the support for the same reason.

Really need at least two of Scales, Jullien (when back), CCV and Ralston starting. And Bitton in midfield. Should help with defensive set pieces, which is probably our biggest weakness.

Thought he looked rapid when he won the pen, the defender was comfortably favourite to beat him to the ball. Hopefully he can start showing that sort of pace when he’s 1v1 with his man because he doesn’t really possess the trickery of a Jota to beat him that way.

People want youngsters to be developed but not the issues that come along with that

He's shown some of his best football for us when he has that space. Personally think he's more suited to a counter attacking style for that reason (see Ferencvaros away for another example). But hopefully he can continue to improve all aspects.

I agree that inconsistency is to be expected yes but I think what surprises me is how wild the drop off is with him. It's not just that he has a quiet game. He goes from some really technically adept finishes and crosses to being unable to trap a ball and fresh air swipes.

I'm not advocating for him to be sold or anything. I hope he continues to improve, he has a lot of promise. Just an observation.

I suppose it doesn't really matter who takes them for us really as our conversation rates from corners and set pieces is pretty poor. I don't even get excited when we get a corner or set piece now as I know the opposition's keeper will gather it or it's driven way too long and, with free kicks, it's going to end up with the ball either going over the bar or wide

It’s mind blowing how much stick he gets. Jota has a good 2 years on him and a technical background that Abada wasn’t fortunate enough to grow up with. Let the guy breathe and develop. Those crosses from the corner were the same ones he showed on debut against Midtjylland but from open play.

He’s going to be a baller.

Same here, always hear a cheer when we get a corner, I just look at my mates and shake my head, even saying lately we should try score direct. I think in last 2 SPL games we had 25 corners total and never looked like scoring from any of them.
I was encouraged by ours last night, hopefully thats Turnbull sacked from them now, would even like to try JJ.

I like him. He played well last night..

He's direct. Quick. Can assist and finish. Presses well..

There was a point first half though where he had so much space and just one man to beat and he never looked capable. Lost it so easily. He massively needs to work on that side of his game, so baller isn't what I'd envisage him being unless he sorts that side..
