I like him. That was calm as *, passed it right into the net from out the box. Good start, will be nice to see how he does on Thursday in a seriously weakened team against a team that just pumped barca at the nou camp like a walk in the park

 

Think a few people were writing him off as a 'Desmond' transfer far too quickly, when anyone who actually saw him play in Ireland/Europe saw there was talent there. Think this is just the very tip of a calm and patient development of a talent, and hopefully we'll continue to use him wisely over this season with an eye to next year and onwards.

I was struggling to think who he made me think of from what I saw of him - everyone compares everyone in that area to Tierney, and he definitely isn't that, but think a previous poster might have nailed it with the Mulgrew comparison. That'd be fantastic if it came off...

Would much rather run with him rather than Taylor.

 

Thursday is a great opportunity to give him the full 90 and see what he’s all about.

 

Great to see hes keeping the no.5 shirt alive after simunovic and scoring 81 mins on his league debut and the legend cesar is also 81 years young

 

I thought Taylor had an alright game.

Very different coming on at 2 - 0 rather than doing the hard adrenalin slog from the start.

 

Hopefully Scales plays the full 90, in the heart of the defence. With CCV out of Thursday's game already and give Welsh a few more days off to make sure he is properly ready and not being rushed back too quickly. This would give Scales an opportunit to show a bit about what he might be able to offer as a CB, rather than make Bitton the stopgap solution.

Besides, Taylor could do with getting another full game under his belt also, after having been out for the better part of three months or something - albeit a shoulder injury so his fitness shouldn't be too far away, but there is a difference between fit and matchfit.

 

He should be in our Starting XI now.
