If he's really comfortable at CB I think we could see him paired with Welsh there. We look like we need somebody naturally left sided.

That pair would concern me. 21 and 23. I get if you're good enough you're old enough etc but we 100% need another more senior option who's a bit of a unit.

I know what you mean but at the minute (and arguably even when CJ is back) Welsh looks like the most senior CB to me regardless of his age.

Just looking at Scales interviews and gameplay clips I'm hoping for that level of confidence and maturity from him. We shall see!

Lads he's 100% coming in as a left back and probably 3rd choice left back. Getting a bit of a hammering off pundits post game, thought he was very passive myself in defence. I'd be shocked if he is anywhere near the match day squad in the short term never mind the starting 11

If that’s the case, we better be looking at other LB’s to come in as 1st choice. It’s imperative to our progress this year & going forward.

Yeah out with us and the huns Irish teams have out performed Scottish teams in Europe recently. Both Rovers and Dundalk reached Europa group stages. LOI play summer football so it's a massive advantage I think but still decent achievements for the league.

Not saying Scales is going to make it but the league does produce really good players. I'm a Bohs fan so Rovers are what the huns are to you and me as Celtic fans, hate the * and don't watch them unless I have to but Scales has never stood out like Jack Byrne did but this season hes getting rave reviews...

In summary it's a punt and a cheap one at that and has Desmonds paws all over it so it's a wait and see for me...

Hes senior but he's not the most physical which is mad considering his height. I still worry about us in that regard.

    Jullien, Welsh, Scales, Starfelt.

I still think another one wouldn't go amiss. In fact I'd say its 100% needed.

Jullien won't be fit properly until early December I think, too. Who knows if he will be the same player.

He’s dominant in the air but can get ragdolled running back to goal. I think with Welsh next to him that’ll help though, because the season we seen of him Ajer was similar.

    I agree though. I want a Mjallby

He keeps doing what he needs to do at whatever level he's playing at..

    Bodes well..

Looks quick and good in the air from the very little I've seen of him..

I share your concern here and that’s why I have been suggesting we should look at Simon Deli from Club Brugge. He’s big, quick, tidy on the ball and surplus to requirements. He’s only 29 and Ivory Coast international and has Europa league experience. Talk of going to Trabonzspor but waiting on other offers.

He rag dolled Morelos when back on loan at Slavia last year at Ibrox too which is never a bad thing.

Last i heard Hertha Berlin and Marseille were sniffing around him. AppArently he has an agreement with OM, but they need to sell first before they can get him on the books.

At the very least he's an upgrade on Taylor in the physicality stakes. If he's even half decent on the ball on top of that then he'll be our first pick.
