Kids been rated for a few years, if we can get him playing well why not give the lad a crack, even if he dosnt make it he can make a few quid being sold as he cost nowt

Probably more to do with the fact he's 20 and was deemed not good enough for the huns, and we're signing him for the reserve squad.

I don't have a problem with it but it's just a bit of a strange one.

    Has he?

Genuinely had never heard of him until he came on as a sub for the Huns against us.

Ah but who says he's not good enough? This is a club that has to get rid of as many wage takers as possible. They will be cutting down anywhere that they can and if the lad was looking to leave then the sooner the better for them. They might not have been so keen to let him go if they knew he was coming to us.

They've signed a number of players this window who will be on far more money than Burt was on. His wages wouldn't have been an issue for them if he was a real promising youngster. He'll be on peanuts.

Again, it's fine. But I think it's pretty clear why some people find it a strange signing. Because it is.

He can also do the Huddle and hold his scarf up at YNWA.

It's definitely a bit of a strange one but as said before, if we've signed him then someone here obviously thinks he may be able to do a job so fair enough. Things don't always work out but doubt we're breaking the bank for him so we'll wait and see. Scoring in your first game isn't a bad way to go about getting folk on side.

I can't see any negative about signing a player on a free, if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.... But.... On the other hand, he could very well do a job for us.....guy needs a chance.

Then it’s down to if you think they’re better at judging talent than us

I don’t think it is strange. We have traded in players for years now with kids going back and forward with the filth. You get Celtic fans spotted first by huns and then we go for them. Vice versa as well.

Fair, but I would find this more "normal" if he was 16 or 17. But the fact he's 20 and being signed for the reserve squad is definitely quite weird. We're already well stocked in midfielders for the first team so he'll have to really be a special talent to get to the level where he can in our first team squad. Again, I don't have a problem with it because he cost us nothing.

Maybe a late developer. Hopefully is.

Fair enough, I personally can't remember us signing many players on a 2 year deal that have just recently been released by the Huns.

LIAM BURT insists he always dreamed of returning to boyhood heroes Celtic.

The young midfielder was released by Rangers this summer after making just three appearances.

But the 20-year-old sealed a shock move back to Parkhead - the club where he started.

Celts tried to poach Burt in 2015 but the youngster was convinced to stay at Ibrox by Mark Warburton.

Now, he's determined to make the most of his second chance at Celtic and win a place in Neil Lennon's first-team.

He told the Celtic View: “This is my boyhood club and, ever since I left, I’ve wanted to come back.

"I was around eight when I first joined Celtic and I left at Under-12 level.

“Then I was at Rangers for around eight years. Towards the end of last season, I just wasn’t enjoying my football.

I had a talk with Rangers and expressed my feeling, they expressed theirs and we parted ways.

"Willie McStay was always back and forth with me.

“I had other options, but this was my main focus. I’m hoping to start every game in the reserves, score more goals and catch the manager’s eye.

"It’s all down to impressing every day in training.”

I wonder why he left in the first place. He was obviously highly thought of first time around for us to take him back on at this stage and he is clearly a fan of us.
