Hibs were * off cause we were low balling as usual

We are well known for it and we would be pissednif it was someone doing it to us.

It all seemed half hearted by us as if we really weren’t fussed about getting him then we panicked and matched the villa bid

I’d rather any of our players stayed in Scotland to benefit this league and keep the talent and money in the game up here

No point in getting petty with the other clubs

TONY FITZPATRICK believes Lewis Morgan could transform St Mirren’s season if he were to return on loan.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants the winger to get game time elsewhere over the next few months, with Hibernian having expressed their interest in taking the 22 year-old to Easter Road.

Saints have also thrown their hat into the ring, and Fitzpatrick admitted it would be a “dream” if Morgan could be tempted to return to the club where he spent five years prior to moving to Celtic in the summer.

St Mirren’s chief executive said: “It would be a dream if Lewis was to come back to us. He knows what we think of him here, and what all the St Mirren fans think of him.

“He could be the one that makes a big difference to us. It would lift everyone in and around the club if it was possible to get him back.

“He’ll have so many options the boy so we’re not kidding ourselves that we’ll definitely get him. But we need him as he’s a special player and a special young man as well.

“It would be an unbelievable move for us if we could get him, and I think it would be great for Lewis, too. He knows the ground, the training ground, some of his old team-mates are still here and the manager, Oran Kearney, is like his old boss Jack Ross in many ways.

“We’d be crazy not to ask the question as we’re an ambitious club so we’ll make that enquiry and see what happens. And we have to hope that Lewis wants to come back to us for a few more months.

Hibs is the best team to send him to, they play much more attacking football than any other team.

Would be an excellent move for him..

Think they're 1 of the most in form side's in the championship..

Hopefully does well and we get him back a better more rounded player..

ABERDEEN have joined the chase to sign Celtic’s Lewis Morgan on loan.

The ex-Scotland Under-21 winger has been told he can join another club to secure game time between now and the end of the season.

And SunSport can reveal Dons boss Derek McInnes is interested in giving him a platform at Pittodrie.

Morgan’s first club St Mirren are desperate to take him back but Brendan Rodgers revealed the 22-year-old won’t be returning to help Buddies’ Premiership survival fight.

Nottingham Forest and Hull are in contention to sign the attacker, who signed a four-and-a-half year deal with Celts last January, but it’s understood Rodgers would be more than happy for Morgan to stay in Scotland to gain more experience.

Hibs boss Neil Lennon would love to take him to Easter Road, but Aberdeen are in the frame with McInnes eager to bolster his attacking options for the second half of the campaign.

Ryan Christie had a successful loan with Dons before returning to Celtic and becoming a key player. Celts could now be open to loaning Morgan to Pittodrie too.

Asked about Morgan’s situation yesterday, Rodgers said: “We’ve spoken about the idea of going on loan but he has a number of possibilities.

“He loved his time at St Mirren but if he moves out then it will be somewhere different.”

I said at the time but I just think this is going to end up yet another pointless deadwood signing.

Thing is the guy is talented, it’s just whether or not he’s good enough for Celtic.

But he’s young and a loan for game time is the correct move.

Aye but I just see it going the way of Allan, Mackay Steven and Hayes good but nowhere near good enough for us. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see it tbh

Need a decent chance to prove you are good enough, I'd be keeping him and playing him in cup games or something in place of Sinclair.

DEREK MCINNES is hoping he’s convinced Lewis Morgan to see out the season at Aberdeen.

McInnes has held talks with the Celtic winger.

And he is now waiting to see if he will make the move to Pittodrie.

The Scotland cap has options on both sides of the Border. Premiership rivals Hibs and St Mirren have also inquired but Celtic won’t sanction those moves, although they are prepared to let the 22-year-old move to Pittodrie on loan.

Brendan Rodgers previously let Ryan Christie head north and he returned as a mainstay in the champions’ squad.

Hull, Birmingham and Sunderland are among Morgan’s other suitors.

There had been some talk Morgan could leave Celtic permanently in this window but only a loan will be sanctioned.

Another player McInnes is keen on taking to Pittodrie is Celtic winger Jonny Hayes.

It's highly likely he wont be good enough for Celtic, bit this is one of the only decent under the radar type signings Rodgers and Congerton have done.

It would of been stupid to let him slip under the radar at such a low price.

I would be absolutely amazed if Lee Congerton had anything to do with Lewis Morgan.

I think you underestimate how good Congerton is with these types of signings. He was the first to spot Coutinho 10 years ago.

If they take Morgan then we’re probably stuck with Hayes :frown:

Would be a good move for both parties though.

Was Congerton scouting for Inter Milan?

Naw, he spotted him before Inter Milan did. Spotted him before anyone actually.

Even his own da and football team coach didn't know how good he was til Congerton had a word in their ear.
