Heard he was back training or that a load of sh*t?

 

I keep getting the feeling Brendan doesn't really fancy him. He's becoming anonymous by his absence and there's this feeling of him being gradually phased out.

 

It's abundantly clear he isn't in the mould of Brendans preferred (lone striker at least) Celtic striker - Moussa and Edouard are what he wants.

Feel as if he hasn't kicked a ball in months, he needs to get himself fit and wait for an opportunity. Dembele does pick up injuries, and it'll be interesting to see if Brendan reverts back to 4-2-3-1 when/if he does, it wouldn't shock me tbh..

I would selfishly have Griff here until he drops below our level, not sure if he gets the football he would want though.

 

I think he'll stay here as long as possible as there's no bigger club in the country and his kids clearly mean the world to him, so he won't want to move south to be further away.

 

Annoys the * outta me this,Griffs has been immense for us,and like Broony and KT knows what this club is and means especially when Sevco and Hearts come to town.

He is a great player and striker on his day,i dont want to see him go anywhere....Like Dembele and Eddie he just has to wait on his chance again and proove Rodgers wrong.

As for Rodgers,i hope he aint phasing a player over player (dembele) that sometimes doesnt look as if he wants to be here

 

He is injured and has neen for most of the last year

 

How exactly does Dembele look like he doesn’t want to be here?

 

Given how we’ve started this season and with Dembele and Edouard looking like they were born to play together, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this team leaves Griffiths behind.

I’d be holding off on offering him that new long term deal just now as well.

 

I’d still be offering him the deal. We need 3 strikers, Griff knows if he sits tight he’ll get his opportunity again. Can’t remember having 3 strikers this good since Larsson, Sutton and Hartson.

He’s the best Scottish striker in years as well, we’d be mad to just cast him aside after everything because we’ve improved the team. He’s still a vital part.

 

His injury problems are frustrating, but I reckon he will still be here long after Edouard & Dembele leave the club..

It would be absolutely horrific management if Thumb was allowed to go.

Moussa won't be here forever.

 

We need to get this * signed up to a long term deal, he is class and offers us a range of skills that eddy and Moussa don't, he also gets the club!

Plus If we keep this new system up we are gonna need a third striker due to our injuries and we will do no better than thumb

 

It’s not just casting him aside though. I just don’t think he’ll ever be first choice under Rodgers and the team will only keep improving. When Dembele moves on Rodgers will want to spend big again on his replacement like Edouard.

I’d keep him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Brendan was to go out and buy another striker in January/Summer if Griffiths has another season like last. Especially if we’re going 352.

 

Harsh but gonna be playing third fiddle this season..

Quality player who brings something different to the side..

Injuries are a concern though..

 

Needs to focus on staying fit before he can look at game time.

 

So lucky to have him as a 3rd choice striker. Just shows how far we've come in the past couple of seasons, he was nailed on first choice for us in Europe, thankfully we've got two much better players ahead of him.

 

I'd imagine if we are gonna be playing 2up front Sinclair is gonna be in the mix for 1 of those spots also ,Griffiths may not even be 3rd choice at this point
