Such a frustrating player. He’s, in many ways, our Paul Gascoigne (alas, with not as much ability). You just know that in ten or so years from now he’ll end up broke, lonely and deeply troubled, constantly in the newspapers for all the wrong reasons. It’s inevitable. He has neither the emotional maturity nor the emotional strength to be successful in anything — not even in the one thing he has been blessed with: football. The guy can’t even do the very least of what’s asked of him, and that’s keep fit. Totally unacceptable. No discipline whatsoever. It’s literally quite staggering the amount of chances he’s had to atone for past transgressions, but his latest creepy cyber antics is the final straw (for the record, I think it’s unfair to label him as a nonce ... creepy, yes — noncey, no). Never saw any of the friendly game against West Ham, but I did see the photo of him at full time with Ange ... looked to me as if he knew his time was up. Pity, as he could’ve achieved so much more, but doesn’t have the character to do so. Oh well, out with a whimper like Lenny. What a waste! As I said, he’s frustrating!
