I think it’s mob mentality more than anything, as individuals people object but when the emotions swing you that direction along with those around you it happens. I might be wrong mate, personally hope I am but it’s a bizarre hypocritical thing.

We’re probably only a month or so away from his next act of stupidity on social media.

The fact the club hasn’t even, at the very least, got him off social media or hired someone to control it for him is bizarre.

I realise there’s various employment laws that would stop employers doing that in ordinary jobs, but football is usually a law unto itself. He really is treated as if he’s bigger than the club.

 

Think his mental health issues in the past have made the club tread very carefully imo. Cant say they've not shown enough care anyway.

 

Plenty of fans have defended him already, nothing sticks and idiots will forgive him.

It won’t. Some will cheer him if he plays again but there will be plenty who will continue booing him. Think it was @Seán Mac D who said It is going to cause trouble in the stands and it will.

Just move him on. Loan, sell, pay him off whatever just get him out of the club.

 

I went off my nut about people booing him, and tbh I still would. Not because of what he’s done/supposed to have done (not even getting into that one again) but simply because of the detrimental effect it has on the rest of the team. I understand the anger shown to him by fans, but the team come first booing your own players is lunacy.

That’s the tricky one and totally understand why you would question it.

The most common sense thing would be for him never to play for us again, that’s down to the hierarchy and manager to decide, it’s an appalling position to put a new manager in, as if he’s not under enough pressure to secure results and build a team. So it should fall on the board to either free him, or sell him.

You have asked a very good question though as I really don’t know how to answer that, on one hand you have to let the powers that be that it’s unacceptable, yet you don’t want to damage the team anymore than it already is, they’re fragile enough.
