Leigh Griffiths

Kris Boyd scored well over 200 career goals and had a better record than Griffiths for Scotland.

Boyd, like Griffiths, was also levels below Edouard.

 

Boyd was a far better player than Larsson (booooo)

 

I'm saying I'd prefer Griff in the team. Eddy is a great footballer I'm not denying that.. as a striker I prefer Griff..

 

We can all have our opinions, but that's just not right man.

Griffith's is a great striker for us, we all want him back.
But he is not better than Édouard, not a chance in *.

Exactly it's just my opinion.. some of the goals Griff has scored for us have been top drawer and if Eddy had scored them wed still be talking about them..

No one is saying he isn't a great striker though, but he is not better than Édouard.

Griffith's, 6 full seasons (and two months this one) 151 league games (start and subs) 84 goals is a brilliant return.

Édouard, 2 full seasons (and two months this one) 64 league games (start and subs) 41 goals is a better return.

Even as a joke this annoys me.

 

Levels below or not, he is still possibly the best striker with scottish nationality, and many times more than good enough to decide games against SPFL teams and partner with Edouard or give him a rest.

It is ridiculous that we played with no striker against Ferencvaros, that we grind out Edouard every game, that we don't play in the 3-5-2 system our team is mostly suited for, because Lennon has a personal grudge against the guy and wants to prove a point. Of everything Lennon is doing for me this is second most indefensable thing.

 

What a lot of * tbh. If Griffiths had remained professional he would be in the squad and featuring in games. I was as ready as anyone to give him the benefit of the doubt when we didn't know the full story, but it's clear that Griffiths hadn't been meeting some very simple obligations. Why should he be rewarded with playing time?

 

Any signs of him getting back into the match day squad ?
The quality of our squad is phenomenal and the problem is trying to give them all some game time especially with Lennons reluctance to make substitutions before the 70 minute.

 

Would love to see him on the bench tomorrow, we are definitely missing him, that said he shouldn't be starting before Ajeti

 

The thing about Eddie is he is able to play different styles and is tactically a significantly more intelligent player. Griffiths is a great goalscorer but as we saw v Bayern away he adds very little when he's not in the box and we're dominating games.

 

I would agree that Griffiths is better than Boyd, but that’s not the argument.

Him saying Griff has scored over 200 goals and is an international striker says nothing about his ability. Boyd also meets that criteria. Doesn’t mean he could or should be compared to Edouard either.

 

We should be starting him with Ajeti, or at least just having two actual strikers on the pitch at the same time, ideally with the best of Ajeti/Griff/Klimala partnering Edouard.

 

id take a half fit griff just for corners freekicks etc. love the boy. eddy will be off soon as will others. griff has problems for sure bution the pitch he gives 100 percent. id start him fit or not but im biased.HH
