    Administrators won't agree to the extension as they are there to cut salaries and guarantee money in. Selling him to someone now does that.

    The player’s worth changes to reflect the length of time left on his contract though.

    If we are willing to spend £500k on the player on the basis he has 5 months left on his deal, but £1.2m on the basis he has 17 months left on his deal then (if they could) they’d demand the latter.

    I don’t think we’ll be signing him today regardless.

    It's a risk waiting for that amount, such as paying his weekly salary until someone or IF someone comes in at more than the January price. If Derby don't get money quick they risk liquidation.
    No I doubt we will come this season and to be honest I'm not sure he's what we need right now anyway.
