Espanyol to the UEFA Cup Final, 3 leagues and 2 doubles with Olympiacos, runner up in La Liga with Bilbao and the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga coach of the year. Versus - nothing.

Barcelona can do miles better than Setién.

Ideally, I see Xavi as the heir but he's still 3-5 years away from being a real option. So an interim option that can bring back the positional play, passing & movement which has been missing

Trophies at Barcelona are meaningless if the play lacks creativity or imagination like it does under Valverde. The only time he has looked a competent coach was with Bilbao who have a conveyor belt of talent unlike the paltry resources Quique has taken over yet couldn't win much. The job Quique did with Lugo alone is reminiscent of what Pep did with a 4th division Barcelona B before taking over the senior team

Barcelona, I would counter has been too big a job for Valverde and I would welcome Setien as the next coach and I would not be alone in that sentiment

Double in your first year and the job is too big for you.

Barca fans in real danger of becoming as entitled as Madrid’s.

Barcelona fans, largely, demand not merely winning but winning with style. If the fans aren't entertained, trophies are not meaningful. Sure there is a base that simply cares about the bottom line but I am not wired this way. I love the sport for the beauty of it, not the trophy haul.

Valverde managed a double courtesy of the wealth of talent at his disposal and Messi, not because of some genius tactics. There are a multitude of very fair criticisms towards Valverde from the poor use of youth, squad rotations or the Roma debacle. He'll never get a big managerial job again which will reflect the reality that indeed the job was too big for him

Best bet Barca could go for is Pochettino.

He seems tailor-made for Barca, not only for his tactics but they way he promotes youth and his style of play.

He’s said it quite a lot, just couldn’t see him go back on that.

First I've ever heard that at all, fair play to him I suppose.

Well in that case he's tailor-made for Real :56::56::56:

Very surprised he hasn’t been approached for that job yet.

They've dropped 12 points already, last season it took them until the 26th League game to drop as many points, they're also conceding goals for fun. Barca used to barely concede a goal as they dominated possession so much teams rarely got a chance now teams are getting chances galore and they're conceding allsorts.

Last season after 12 League games they had only conceded 4, now they've conceded 18 they never conceded 18 last season until the 36th game.

I'd imagine a TOP job isn't too far around the corner for him, especially with the lack of funds he's had recently at Shpurz.

Aye I was surprised to see Barca are only 4 points ahead of Real Madrid, considering the shambles of a start Real have had.

They’re top of La Liga, top and undefeated in their Champions League Group (arguably the ‘Group of Death’) and they’ve just absolutely destroyed Madrid.

    Stats are magic, eh?

Do you not think they would be concerning to Barcelona fans? I know what it’s like on here when we’re conceding too many goals or have some comical defending even while winning.

Can imagine Barca’s standards are even higher.

Would you say Celtic are struggling just now?

Depends on your definition of the word, for me it isn’t even a debate. Barca are definitely not ‘struggling’.

Probably not for us but for their high standards I can see why fans of them would think that.

This season? Aye, defo mate. Especially when compared to the last few seasons. We’ve got our act together majorly recently though so I wouldn’t say our form is struggling but for the season as a whole? Yes, it has been a struggle.
