The fact that it's Brentford is irrelevant to us, it's good business for us, and for the player himself it gives him a foot in the door in the EPL, i have no doubt he'll go on to bigger and better things.

Agree with you on all counts there. I really do believe like Van Dijk going to Southampton we will see him moving on to a bigger club for a bigger fee which will hopefully mean down the road like with Van Dijk we will get ourselves another chunk of money from a sell on profits fee assuming we have that clause in place.

Sad to see him go. Hope he goes on to have a good career.

Probably won't be VVD levels but hopefully he gets a £70 mill move to dumb * like arsenal in the near future.

Really hope that he goes on to bigger things and has a great career. Did a lot of good stuff while he was here, and unlike some when they begin to have their heads turned elsewhere, he never gave anything less than 100% effort and commitment to the cause. Maybe the last time will get to say this, but he always reminded me of Roy Aitken, in so many ways.

All the best, Kris & good luck!

Pretty telling that from the 4 who supposedly wanted out (Édouard, Christie, Ntcham, Ajer) 12 months ago.

The only one that kept performing fairly consistently is the first one out the door, to the supposed promised land and riches of the EPL and to the footballers paradise of London!!

Lesson to be learned for the other bhoys
Get your head down and the rewards will come. Down tools, and due to the clubs profile, everyone in the industry can see how weak you actually are, and you’ll end up on your *.

Think this speaks of not only of Ajer's own character, but of having good people around him giving solid advice and not just blowing smoke up his * about how amazing he is. Even from Brentford's statements part of the appeal was his characrter on and off the pitch, and that says alot about his professionalism in all areas.

The guy will have a good career, maybe even a great career and I wish him the best but in 20 years he will be still banging on about Celtic this and celtic that.

Yes he has his head screwed on, he definitely would have been in with a shot of being captain if he stayed, even at the young age of 23. Vice captain a certainty. Hope he does well.

That said, it was disappointing he went to Norwegian media to push the transfer away, but we don't know what was going on behind the scenes.
