Good luck big man. I think 13 to 15mil is okay for a player with one year left. He gave his all even when others downed tools. Think Brentford has a good setup. Leverkusen was was maybe a bigger name, but from what i read in German news they only pffered 8mil…Euro! So thats about half of what we got. So we were right in holding out and rejecting their offer.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has dropped a transfer hint that the club's £13.5million deal to sign Kristoffer Ajer could be immenent.

Talking to West London Sport, Frank said that new signings are 'close' and that there 'definitely' will be new faces in at Brentford soon.

Ajer signed for the Hoops in 2016 from Norwegian club Start and has also made 23 senior international appearances for Norway

Ange didn't mince his words when asked about Ajer.

“I can’t afford to waste time on anyone other than the ones who are here and committed to being here.”

    AJER COMPLETES BRENTFORD MEDICAL

Kristoffer Ajer has completed a medical with Brentford ahead of a £13.5m transfer from Celtic.

A deal for the 23-year-old Norway centre-back has largely been agreed with only the final details to be concluded.

Ajer, who is highly-rated and also a target for fellow Premier League newcomers Norwich, was not in Celtic’s squad for their first pre-season friendly at the weekend.

Celtic are preparing to play Brentford’s sister club FC Midtjylland in a Champions League qualifier tonight and Ajer is not expected to be involved.

He has made 176 appearances for Celtic since joining from IK Start in 2017 and has 23 caps for Norway.

He's better than Brentford in fairness but all I'm concerned about now is the fee. It better get reinvested.

Not necessarily, we've bought players yes but there's a full rebuild to be concluded which will need heavy investment. Hence this fee better go towards that process.

I wish him all the best.

£13.5m isn't bad considering he's in his last year of contract and we bought him for £650k. That's some profit.

    Reinvest for once!

Brentford sounds like a career-ruining move.

Good luck to him, he was a good player for us and I will remember some of his contributions fondly. Hope he moves to a better team in the future like Van Dijk

    It really isn't

I think it will be a great move for him. Brentford are run fantastically well as a club, have a very good manager and I can see them staying in the EPL for a good few years. Presuming Ajer shows what he is capable of he'll get a move to a bigger club anyway.

Loved Ajer, one of our best signings in recent history and he gave his all for us. Good luck big man

I'm not sure how you have arrived at that opinion.
He will be showcased in the Premier League. If he excels, the big boys will be in for him.
He is in control of his own destiny & will now find his own level.

Good player but not as good as he thinks he is. Still has good potential if coached properly.

Loved his passion at times, the club have done well to get very good money for him in this financial climate and his contract almost over.

Good luck to him , but Brentford! guess most other EPL clubs don't see him as an improvement on what they already have.

Now hand over that cash to Ange

Good luck to him, tried his heart out last season unlike some others who wanted away.

If he performs well he won't be at Brentford for long.
