Because his last game he made an absolutely idiotic mistake and got himself suspended. Jozo didn’t do anything to deserve getting dropped, so Brendan didn’t.

I’d have rathered Ajer but it’s not some big mystery

 

Harsh on that alone. Given that we were 2 up in the final minute, the mistake didnt cost us.

Players like Boyata have made crucial mistakes in both europe and domestically and have kept their place.

 

Like I said, I don’t agree but it’s clearly why.

Brendan picks and chooses who he applies his rules to. I don’t think it’s fair but it works for us most of the time.

 

Drop Boyata then. If the plan is to pass it out from the back then Ajer should play.

 

Boyata’s Brendan’s first choice centre back. That wasn’t going to happen.

 

Nope but it should have imo.

 

Personally I would have went Boyata/Ajer.

I was baffled last night when Šimunović showed up. In the interest of giving young players experience, Ajer should start the return leg, at least.

 

I said to the old man before kick off, why simunovic before ajer. I still believe I ajer should have got a start

 

It doesn’t make sense to play Jozo over Ajer when our aim is to play it out from the back.

Regardless of his previous mistake, if we want to play from the back then he’s our best at doing that role and should be starting, no question.

Ajer is comfortable making runs into midfield as well which would have helped last night when we were being pressed and were passing about the back line time and time again struggling to get forward.

 

3 years ago since he signed. He’s looks older 3 years ago ffs...

 

Cant get over that the mistake is being held against him. Put in a string of solid performances of late and heavily contributed to our recent spell of form. Stepped in, in the absence of Benkovic.
Yet Boyata loses the ball on plenty of occaisions, some of which have led to goals, and is not given the same treatment.

 

Solid again. Both him and Boyata dealt with everything that came at them.

 

Another assured performance from Ajer. Dealt with every question asked of him once again.

 

Keep him in the team for the rest of the season. Boyata and Ajer until Benkovic is fit.

Tbh Anytime there is a bit of a altercation he gets involved and backs the players up, I love it about him.

Armstrong used to like getting in amongst it anol. You need that in a team.
