Kevin Nisbet is Celtic's latest target as Ange Postecoglou continues his summer rebuild, according to a report.

On Thursday the Parkhead club confirmed striker Leigh Griffiths had penned a one-year contract extension.

But now the Aussie manager is looking for reinforcements up top — and the Hibs striker fits the bill, according to the Daily Mail.

The Easter Road frontman finished joint-second in the Scottish Premiership scoring stakes with only Odsonne Edouard scoring more.

Edouard remains likely to leave the club this summer despite a move to Leicester City looking dead in the water now.

Nisbet featured off the bench in all three of Scotland's Euro 2020 matches and even netted within minutes of coming on against the Netherlands on his debut in a warm-up friendly.

It's claimed more than £4m will be required to tempt Jack Ross and the Hibs hierarchy into selling up

Birmingham City had a late approach rebuffed at the end of the winter window but they're set to be tested further in the summer.

Should be a no brainer. Get it done now and let's not * about.

    Can see it now tho.

Celtic make initial poor offer then over the next month we add to the initial offer with a few extra hundred grand and some club shop vouchers. We finally agree a fee and boom some English mob swoop in for him.

1 year down the line he's a 10mil player down south

I honestly like him, if we can get him in for the right price I would be all for it.

£4million+ for a striker that would be in theory to replace Griffiths in a system that we are likely to play only 1 up top in. No thank you.

Had we not just extended Griff by a year, I could understand it at around £2million tops. But not that sort of money that they will demand from Celtic.

Hibs WILL NOT want to sell to us and if they demand a figure, just like McGinn, they will not budge from that in any sort of negotiation with us.

For £4million we really would be looking to sign someone of a better calibre and ready to go.

Only other way I like to sign him now, would be for £2million, but they keep him a season longer on loan as a sweetener.

I don’t really rate him to be honest. Not for our level.

I’d be worried if we’re making that type of signing. We should be aiming far higher.

It is a worry to be honest. If Griffith had been moved on, I would understand it as his replacement. But we desperately will need to actually replace Edouard - we should NOT be throwing £4million+ at another striker that isn't the Edouard replacement.

If this is the next signing in the door, for me it would be massive alarm bells again that not only is Ange not in control of who comes in (as was Lennon not in control), but also a massive signal that we are downgrading again.
