I see that Wolves prefer to start Griffiths now, they got beat 1-0 of Morcambe last night.

    Doyle came off the bench

The point is that the Wolves manager obviously rates Griffiths better than Doyle.

You've no proof this is the case.

Griffiths is on a cheap contract, Doyle is on astronomical wages (for a 3rd division team), including maximum appearance fees........

I don't have proof this is the case, but a game that Wolves would certainly want to win (league cup), you would think the manager would go with his best team as to ensure progression to the next round, no?

The appearance fees may be a factor in him not starting, but I'd imagine gates from another game (another round) would trump any fee that he would receive.

So from this I can take you would rate Kenny Jackett's ability to spot players talents and how to use them higher than Neil Lennon's, if we were to sign him?

Of course not, I've never even heard of Kenny Jackett, I'm just making a point of how their manager sees the two.

I'd rather have Doyle over Griffiths at Celtic

Kenny Jacket is their manager, I've said this before though, this signing if it happens basically comes down to whether you trust Neil to do what's best for us or not.

But you cannie make a point of how their manager sees if you you don't even know who the manager is :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

I see what you're getting at, but I'm sure it's not as black and white as that at Wolves.

Griffiths is young and cheap - ideal for a club who've just begun life in the 3rd division.

Doyle - like I've already said - is on huge wages and appearance fees/goal fees/ etc. Also, they won't want to risk injuring a player who Celtic are interested in, and who they are desperate to get rid of.

I do trust Lenny, I wasn't stirring the pot or hinting that Griffiths is a better player, just wanted to update people on the game time we was getting.

I trust Lennon overall - of course I do - however, do I trust him 100% in every dealing / action? Nope - he's nae perfect. * me, even i'm nae perfect, although i'm * close.....

The percentage of trust may well go down a point or 2 depending on what happens wi Doyle in the next month or so!!!

Not really because everyone has their own opinions of players. Did you trust Neil Lennon when he signed Daryl Murphy or did you wonder what was going on.

I know mate, however it's clear to me that Doyle is nowhere near a number 1 target. If we end up with it's because all other options have told us to go * ourselves.

I trusted Neil Lennon, as I did when he showed him the door. We got through an insane amount of business that year and he felt we needed a target man and he became available, not his best signing but I trusted Neil to know what he was doing and why he was brought into our squad. Games like St Johnstone that year was why it was.

However, Neil Lennon has grown as a manager exceptionally by then and this hasn't been a transfer he has dove into. It's been a very long, strung out rumour. If we end up with Doyle, there is very good reasons behind it.

Fair enough. I'll be honest, I wondered what was going on, signing someone that quite frankly, is woeful at best. And I have a similar feeling about the Doyle signing. I wouldn't compare him with Murphy in terms of playing attributes etc, because I think Doyle is a far superior player, but the signing overall doesn't make sense to me. I think we need one more striker, and that is a goal scorer. I just don't see when or where Doyle fits into our current team.

I agree - considering people are already complaining that Balde isn't getting enough pitch time.

I think we need 1 more striker and if he isn't better than what we already have, then there is no point.
