Karamoko Dembele!!

Certainly is an interesting one. Captaining England at his own age group is some achievement. You'd wonder how much of that is to turn his head. He hasn't posted anything Scotland related in nearly a year yet has been playing for them during this period.

He also has a sister, Macoula Dembélé who was studying law and was signed to a Scottish modelling agency.

He probably has it for a number of reasons. He has had a lot of publicity for a youth player, especially one coming through the Celtic ranks. I remember an article on the bbc about someone complaining it was abuse putting him with kids so much older than him but Celtic took the view if he played with other 13 year olds he wouldn't improve as he is so far ahead of them he wouldn't improve playing in u-16 matches(they played him in an u-20s match). His instagram only has a few posts but plenty show him playing for Scotland. I'd love for him to play for Celtic and Scotland, and to be honest I would not be shocked if we saw him in League cup matches when he turns 16.

 

Clips of the wee guy have been all over social media from a very young age and then his U20 debut at the age of 13 was picked up by every paper in the UK at the time. The expectation is pretty huge.

Can't help but feel that when the time comes he will chose England. Greater opportunities commercially etc as I'm sure his advisors will be telling him. It would probably be favoured by his sponsor Nike too given their deal with the English FA

 

I agree, I think he will pick England. However he may want to play for them as he was born there. To be honest I think you should play for who your heart tells you. Sadly football is not that way and these days sponsors, agents and advisors hold a lot of weight.

 

When will he be training with first team?

 

He's about 5 foot.

Seems to have his head screwed on. Just hope he makes the right choice when the time comes and the English clubs come in offering boatloads of cash to sign with them.

Don't like his attitude already, but then again I don't like most 15 year olds...

 

He's already more muscular than musonda.

 

If he does start featuring for our first team in a couple of years, I'll feel sorry for him when he doesn't live up to the hype that's surrounded him for a few years now.

 

Thats the kind of player every team needs though. Someone who just wants to turn the style on and take on the next man and turn him inside out.

Thats what we had in Paddy Roberts and we're missing him now.

Lots of potential like lots of others that have went before him and football has burned them. Still has a lot to learn but depends who is doing the teaching how much he will learn and how far he will go.
