ANGE POSTECOGLOU has admitted Celtic are facing a waiting game to discover whether Jota will be fit enough to feature against RB Leipzig.

The Parkhead manager revealed Jota was not feeling right as he missed training today ahead of tomorrow night's match.

Jota was taken off at half-time against St Johnstone at the weekend sparking fears of an injury. But Postecoglou stated the change was down to "fatigue".

The Celtic boss has now confirmed the winger is a doubt for the Champions League clash but was coy on the chances of Jota featuring.

Speaking to the media this afternoon, Postecoglou explained: "With all the players, they're all important in different ways.

"With the short turnaround, it's not unusual for somebody not to be right the day before a game when we've got such a quick turnaround in games.

But, it's just a matter of whether he's (Jota) right or not.

"If he's right then we'll play him, if he's not then he'll miss out."

He’ll not play if he’s not 100%. We can’t risk more key players being out injured for a few weeks.

Surprised there hasn't been some rumour that he had a fall out with Ange at halftime on Saturday :87:

It isn't worth risking him tomorrow if it makes his injury worse

Probably just a bit depressed that he's shagged all the good looking burds in Glasgow, and doesn't fancy the ugly ones.

Couple of half bottles of Buckie and he'll be back to scoring on the pitch and off it.

Hes at it. He knows teams are preparing to take him out the game. Take him out and they won't be preparing fully on taking him out. Then bam! Hatrick.

Jota could miss Celtic's Premiership match against Hibernian at the weekend, according to manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Portuguese winger was withdrawn at half-time in the 2-1 win over St Johnstone last weekend and subsequently missed the Hoops' 2-0 Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

Postecoglou had intimated in the build-up to the game that the 23-year-old could make the team and that he was suffering from 'fatigue and soreness' but ultimately he was not named in the matchday squad at all.

Asked about a timescale for Jota's return to action, Postecoglou replied: "We'll see. He's still a bit sore today so it probably needs a bit of investigation.

"But it's nothing serious - it may still keep him out of the weekend [Celtic face Hibs at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon] but we'll assess it as we go along."

"a bit sore" our captain sprinted 50 yards on a busted knee* We can't afford for him to not be an option at least as a sub at the weekend if Abadas injury keeps him out.

*I know It's better we not take chances and play him risking more serious long term injury, just venting.

Was 50/50 for a game last Wednesday night but turns out he’s not even back training yet, knew it. The lesson is never listen to anything Ange says about injury’s in pressers.

Laughing at the huns injuries but we're going into this game with both our first choice wingers our and our captain out. Couldn't make it up.

Not ideal but we can still put very good replacements in for tomorrow. O'Riley has done a good job in place of McGregor. While Maeda and Abada will be fine on the flanks tomorrow. I imagine with Turnbull out we may see Haksabanovic in the 10 role again as well.

Both our first choice wingers out? What's happened to Maeda?
