Taylor should really be second choice LB now.

Not a full back, made a good couple of runs forward but his positioning is horrendous.

    Overzealous.

There’s times when that’s a godsend because he’s brought on and we need his energy and enthusiasm (the shitpit) and there’s times he just looks like he’s trying too hard (tonight!).

Hes ripping it living off that goal at this point. Take it Taylor was cup tied so not much could be done tonight

    Yes, Taylor is cup tied.
He did inject energy, which was needed when we were starting to look leggy.
Overall, decent enough but his final ball was poor.

Now that MJ is back, and Taylor is in the picture, we should be seeing less and less of Hayes. Hopefully.

Having featured 14 times so far, he's on course to for his highest appearances in a season for us, even before the winter break. (18/19: 21; 17/18: 20)

Considering the players available I find that pretty surprising. I can see Lenny continue with this utility man on the bench idea.

Despite his lengthy injury layoff I’ve always thought he was a good squad player to have around.

That wasn't his best performance against Hibs but there's no doubting his commitment.

A hard grafter who causes no squad strife. Popular figure in the squad. Happy to be on the bench and called upon when needed, knows he's not a starter.
You know what you get, can be trusted to do a job, can fill more than one position, is nowhere near as bad as the last page and a half of posts here. Is exactly the kind of squad player managers dream of.
Yeah, sell him. Christ, what do ye actually want?

Hendry, Arzani, Kouassi, Gordon, Ralston, Miller, Sinclair (unfortunately), Benyu should be released first, plus the other 3 loans and Ntcham or Rogic will probably leave soon. The squad after that will be thin & then see how much a player like him is required.

He's played quite well coming in or coming on at times. Obviously yesterday wasn't one of them (he was indeed awful); but that's not usually the case.

But did he tho mate? He made an absolute dogs dinner of that chance and it was right after he came on. I think thats what stuck in peoples minds. When El Hamed came on we pushed Hayes & Frimpong further up and Hibs got a lot of joy wide on both sides for a 10-15 minute period. He and McGregor worked some nice moves on the left & Eddy was involved in close short passing moves on that side too with them & cut in for a couple of chances. All from the left where Hayes was.
I think using the word awful is a bit strong.

We have so many bang average players and he is one. Should be looking for an upgrade.

Dunno, mate. I really like him and think he's a valuable squad player, but I remember thinking he'd be getting flack for his performance as I was watching him. I genuinely thought he had a really bad game when he came on.

No biggee. It happens at times and better yesterday than Thursday. Usually he's done really well and if Boli doesn't make it, I'm sure he'll be back to normal for Lazio.

I wouldn't say he was awful, not at his best but not awful.

I really don't understand the logic of having him as backup instead of Taylor, specially when there were so many in the bench capable of playing in the left wing already. Even having Bolingoli and Taylor together as LW and LB respectively is possible.

That said I really don't think he is awful and useless and I haven't seen enough of Taylor to say he should be ahead of Hayes.

It is true but Lennon said himself that it is preferrable to have Hayes in the bench because of that. I am not speking of yesterday specifically.
