Get him back, clearly guys like him, Parker and Thompson were who gave Lennon the success he enjoyed with us originally.

Meh, Lenny has a more admirable physique IMO. Old man trying to stem the tide. Embrace it! Be like Neil!

JOHAN MJALLBY has admitted that Neil Lennon tried to bring him back to Celtic during his second spell as manager of the club.

Mjallby assisted Lennon when he first took the reigns at Parkhead in 2010 and also worked with the Northern Irishman at Bolton. The pair shared four season together as team-mates at Celtic.

Speaking to the Celtic Huddle Podcast, Mjallby has revealed that there was a conversation regarding his potential return to Parkhead when Lennon returned to succeed Brendan Rodgers in 2019.

“We had a brief chat about it when he got into the door,” he said.

“He was interested to try and bring me on board, but that fizzled out a wee bit which was fine.

“I think he was quite happy with his assistants. They had a poor season this year, but he had no problem working with John the previous season.

“There was probably no other way it could have ended because it’s such a results driven business - especially when you are manager of Celtic.”

Lennon left Celtic in February, but his former assistant believes he will be a successful manager elsewhere once again.

“It’s obviously still sad as I respect him a lot as a person and especially as a manager,” he contined.

“I think Neil is an excellent manager and is a true Celtic legend.

But I’m confident he will come back and be successful with another team somewhere else.”
