Showed more ability than GG. Good movement, some nice touches and looked interested. Also much fitter and stronger looking.

Yeah I know what you mean.

I think where he looked ‘raw’ it was more a case he was not used to playing with players that execute moves so quickly.

He looked like a new arrival to an Ange team and of course that’s what he was.

Havent seen enough of GG to be coming out with a dramatic statement like that.

I liked the look of the boy. He has a lovely first touch and doesn't seem to panic. Hopefully he gets another chance to show us what he can do however, it might be better for him to be loaned out in order for him to get some more actual game time

naw you haven’t. If you like GG fair enough.
Its my opinion and I thought young Dawson had a good debut and has shown more ability and attitude.

GG has played 270 mins. Not enough to judge him on.

Dawson did alright when he came on but to compare his ability with GG is an odd one. Both haven't had enough game time.

Can be happy with his debut. Although he made a run into the middle when he should have drifted left and he may have found himself through on goal a 2nd time. Adds a bit of height upfront aswell.

    Thought Dawson did well.

However, from the little of GG I've seen if he can get fit he will be a far bigger contributor to this season than Dawson.

Three days ago, Joey Dawson was getting ready to head back down to England to spend Christmas with his family.

But then came the call from his B team manager Tommy McIntrye to tell him those plans would have to change as he would be needed for Ange Postecoglou’s first team.

While there was a tinge of disappointment at not getting to see his family that he left behind to join Celtic in the summer from Scunthorpe, it was all worth it as the 18-year-old was an early substitute in the 3-1 Boxing Day win over St Johnstone.

He said: “It’s unbelievable and such a proud moment for me and my family.

“I’ve come a long way in a short space of time, so I just need to stay grounded and keep working hard to hopefully get more appearances.

“It’s massive for me making my Celtic debut at such a young age, it’s a great honour but now I need to keep working hard.

'Honestly, I probably didn’t think the debut would come this season, but in football, anything can happen.'

"So that’s why I always have to be ready to take my chance and hopefully I did that today.”

It was a debut full of good touches and promising moments, but it was almost sealed in the perfect fashion when he almost scored, having a late effort cleared off the line.

That moment would have capped the day for Dawson, but he wants to make sure he is back in the first team again to get more scoring opportunities.

“I was devastated it didn’t go in,” he said. “I don’t know how he got there to be fair.

'After I dinked the keeper I thought it was in and I had my debut goal but they’ve just stretched to keep it off the line.'

"Me scoring isn’t the main thing, the most important thing is the win.

“Having a taste of it today has just made me want more and hopefully I can keep working hard and score more goals.”

Ability - range of movement, fitness, strength, first touch, holding the ball up also was unlucky not to get his goal. Don’t get upset I just think the young lad showed more in a shorter time.

Will need to see a * of a lot more before judging but nice to see a young academy striker in the side.

    I'm not getting upset lol.

I just think it's a weird thing to say that he's shown more ability or is stronger or his movement is better or fitter than GG.

One player has played less than 90mins and the other has played less than three full 90mins.

You've written one guy off and bigged up the other with a handful of games combined.

To add further to this, Dawson contributed almost nothing yesterday apart from almost scoring at the end. Don't get me wrong, he didn't look out of place either but saying he is better than GG based on * all is mind boggling. Looks a good prospect and hope he gets a more appearances off the bench but GG missing that penalty does not make Joey a better player, some of yous are actually mental.

Folk on here love a scapegoat though, especially Greek ones!

I still think Giakoumakis will come good. I'm pretty sure he will infact..

He clearly hasn't been fully match fit since he's been here, for whatever reason..
