    Hopefully not.

    English players on the whole are overhyped, Defoe I reckon was a decent player back in his day, but he is so far from what we need it's unreal.

    Instead of making Defoe our top scorer, can't we go out and get a mid 20s striker from a similar league as ours and pay them a decent wage. Someone capable of stepping it up to Europe, age on his side and willing to give their all.

    He’ll still be on a huge * wage and has barely been playing but I’d take him for 6 months if we can, he’s the type of box striker we’ve missed since Hooper.

    People that are saying go for him I woud think are meaning on loan till Griffiths is fit again and not as n01 striker and would probably have another striker signed permanent though as well
