Yeah you could be right, he is young as you say.

I guess he can bulk up a bit but not sure if that will be to his detriment. Just very very small and slight.

 

Although in the cup final he was having a very good game defensively until he got sent off which was more down to poor marking by the team mates that forced him in to the situation where he did.

But no doubt going forward is his strength, which is fine as look at most highly rated modern full backs such as Alexander Arnold and Robertson, they aren’t the best defensively.

 

I think that he can be relied upon to do an effective job as either a full back or a wing back.

 

When did this myth that he’s not good defensively grow arms and legs?

He’s absolutely fine defensively. Marked Kent out of the game in the cup final, used his strength a number of times as well to get out of dodgy situations.

He’s our best right back.

 

He made his career professional debut THIS season. Give the guy some time to develop his defensive qualities. Which is actually pretty difficult playing for Celtic because of the amount of possession we usually have.

 

He has pace, skill and can get a foot in, he is not poor in defence, and he fecking awesome going forward. He is in a different league to all Our left backs. He is a decent right back and going to get better.

As it is though, Frimpong’s positional sense is class, a rare ability in a player so quick.

 

Him at RWB and Forrest and LWB appears to be the answer.

 

Forrest hasn't got the legs this season for the wing-back role, he's been taking breathers and struggling to run since about October. Wing-back role has him playing too deep and using up to much energy to defend that hes become ineffective in attack.

Only if we play three at the back, ld rather play four at the back. Ajer and Jullien should be our pairing, with Frimpers on the right and a new left back on the left, Taylor is not ready, Boli Boli has gone missing and Hayes is a great super sub. We need a quality left back..

We signed him on a 4 year deal so he is our player and not going anywhere anytime soon I would think. Has a lot of learning to do and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders so he knows Celtic is a place where he can really develop into a top level talent.
