I think it can be safely said he is not a left back, his spatial awareness and football intelligence is not up to the mark.

I'm leaning towards not keeping him on, giving his age and wage demands.

Me too, after initial feel good factor. If not, then we need to have another target lined up.

I would love to keep him and he would be great as a sub for us but at that age its hard to play 40+ games per season obviously.

We're bringing in KT, he ain't gonna be our lb.

I do agree he could maybe be used in midfield.

He's been a good inclusion in our hour of need but for the wage he's on I'd want him to firm up my stomach, make the dinner and walk the dog too! To remain at the club and continue drawing that kind of money when we could achieve the addition of a good natural LB as back-up for KT much cheaper seems bizarre. Maybe once we finally clinch the league (mathematically) give him a run in midfield and see what he can bring there. But at the moment the costings could cover a couple of signings more than good enough for our league. Who knows he could become what we're missing at the minute so give him a go, (it might spur some of our missing midfield back to life as well for the remainder of the season). But the wage must come down or it's 'toodle pip' and thanks ever so...:bye1:

Think Sutton probably summed it up well. Doesn't look a natural left back but he generally defends one vs ones better than Taylor.

Wages too high for what you get, signing on fee or not.

Done a job though but wouldn't keep past the summer.

Not having him, prime example of someone not putting full effort in imo.

Lapses of concentration wouldn’t come if he was bang on it.

He'll be gone in the summer, plays like he thinks he is too good for us, very slack and lazy.

He's cost us big time too against the Huns and St.Johnstone.

First few games looked like a no brainer to try and keep him, but caught out of position and caught in possession loads since.

Take him in a heartbeat myself if he’s available. Flip flopping on him within a couple of games is mental.

Anyone that watched the Bayern games and thinks GT is a better back up left back for us as a club trying to make their mark in Europe is doolally. Not only that he has vast experience at centre mid in the English Prem whereas GT would be Championship level at best down south. And I like GT btw but those are the facts.

His strength is impressive and does show how weak current left back is - that's why many here want to keep him.
However, he's consistently and frequently given the ball away from the day we signed him, not just last few games.

Could be decent utility player when we are struggling or need to hold a lead, but nothing more.
For the SPL Taylor is a better choice, and I really don't like Taylor!

Ideally we'd get KT and another LB in and start again.

Always found it interesting when Rodgers was told by the press that Schlupp was open to staying, he responded with something along the lines of "Aye I bet he would".

Thought that immediately shifted the narrative at the time. We all thought that it would be a case of trying to convince Schlupp himself that this was the best place for him in the long-term. But internally it's clear he actually is the one having to do the proving to Rodgers.

Unfortunately outside of Munich away he hasn't really impressed. And with Taylor back in the side, it looks as though Rodgers' mind is made up.
