    Nah not buying it.

this is the same guy who said Sinclair was a 6 month loan to Preston - 5 hours later it’s a 2.5 year perm deal!

    What else can he say?

It's clear he wants players. It's down to the money men to do the deals.

The fact we messaged Sporrar's club to say we would be putting a bid in, in the next few days shows that players have been identified but Lawwell is going at his usual pace in the hope it knocks off a few grand.

Just say nothing. Coming out with “hopefully get a few in soon” every other day is tiresome as *.

Then he'd get slated for the radio silence.

He's letting us know the delay is not on his side. He's identified the players he wants and passed them to Lawwell and the board.

He told us he wanted 2 in before Dubai and he's on record that he thinks we should deviate from our signing policy and bring in experience.

The fact the deals aren't being done isn't his fault, he wants them in as much as us. I share your ire but it should be directed elsewhere. We're cash-rich, lacking in squad depth and yet we're still * about.

He really wouldn’t get slated. I’m not saying he needs to remain silent for the entire window. Just that we don’t need fed the same bullshit every few days.

Was the same during the summer and for a few of Rodgers’ transfer windows as well.

He absolutely would get slated. You see folk on here saying stuff like the fans deserve to know what's happening; it's a no win situation.

I personally would prefer it if I just heard about a deal once it was done, no bullshit beforehand, but given the nature of the media, that's unrealistic.

That's precisely my point. He'll be fed up answering the same questions.

He's doing his due diligence with the scouting and coaches, passing on the names he sees as a priority signing and yet we're sitting here 2 weeks after the Hun game still waiting on movement.

They're gambling with 9 in a row as it stands. If we * it up while 10s of millions of £s sit in the bank then they'll never be forgiven.

    2 strikers for me.
Its reasonable to assume that Eddy will go in the summer.
Would be a good time to bring in his replacement, get him up to speed so as he can hit the ground running in the summer, having had his bedding in period. Lets spend 10M.
Also, would be good to get in, short term, an experienced physical striker.
Don't want to * about with signings like Bayo or Morgan, lets raise the bar, fire a shot across the bows, Govan area.

I wouldn't be getting shot of Hayes at this point. He's versatile and has shown that he will do a job when required.

Can't argue with any of the rest.

I'd be adding in Benyu whose loan deal is up next month I believe and loan deals for O'Connor and Afolabi.

Right now, would be keen to keep hold of Hayes, Sinclair and Morgan gone, Ely out injured and MJ seems so injury prone, leaves us thin on the ground left winger options.
