January leavers

I was one of the ones saying Ajeti should get a chance at the start of the season. He has shown nothing to merit staying here much longer. He also doesn't suit Ange's style of football. I would rather move him on & let Ange pick his own man as a 3rd striker.

 

As long as we are bringing in another striker I am all for selling at Ajeti at this point. Griffiths will be out of contract when his loan is over at Dundee and I would assume we will not be offering him a new deal so he is likely done as a Celtic player already. So as long as we bring in another striker and have 3 guys there then if we can sell Ajeti at that point we should. Best really for both sides at this point.

 

Agreed I was the same give Ajeti a chance but he just has not taken it and just does not fit with how we want to play now so best for both us and for him for him to move on in January if a buyer can be found.

 

Who realistically out of Ajeti, Griffiths, Taylor, Barkas, Afolabi, O'Connor, Connell, Bitton, Shaw and Urhoghide are worth keeping around the squad until the end of the season?

You could make a case for Taylor and Bitton, even then Taylor isn't up to the standard we should be aiming for, and Bitton (a player I like) probably needs to start a new chapter somewhere else.

Most of these players are nowhere near good enough or just wasting away here. As a club it has taken us ridiculously long to shift deadwood for years. I'd rather get them out as fast as possible and beef up the squad with proper quality signings or better replacements.

Precisely how I feel. Need shot of deadwood, but now isn’t really the time.

Different story if a club offered decent money for one of them, but actively looking to punt when we’ve a thin enough squad would be madness.

 

Barkas, Taylor, McCarthy, Henderson, Ajeti, Griff.

 

Won't be surprised if Barkas and Bolingoli leave.

 

I think Ange seems quite fond of Taylor, he's staying and I don't mind that, he's a decent enough squad player. Henderson, I mean at most you'll get a loan but we can't sell him and his contract ends in the summer anyway. Griff, is pretty much gone and I imagine he will stay with Dundee. Mccarthy could prove useful if he had more speed around him.

 

Given our luck with injuries I would not let anyone in the first 20 leave.

 

McCarthy is going nowhere. Sitting on a well paid 4 year deal despite having had a bad injury, and also at his boyhood club. Just need to hope he repays us with some good performances.

Soro? Would be surprised if he left, given the lack of squad depth.

 

No chance would I be getting rid of Bolingoli without bringing a left back in. He is a better option than both Taylor and Montgomery.

Taylor gets so much unfair flak, he's an important part if the squad simple as, aye he's not a superstar but he's not as * as people make out and he does come up with assists. Yes I'd like better but by no means should we be getting rid of him in January.

Barkas can go aye. A couple loans out maybe (urgohide or Murray, maybe Shaw/ Henderson but I'd rather have them and see them get some time, even as bench options) Bitton had a job to do as has Soro. The boli question is an odd one, he's looked alright when he has played but it's odd on how he is picked then not, unless we get a left back in I can't see it but we also have 3(4) when counting Juranovic for that position so * knows.

We did the clear out already, let's not strip the squad anymore if we want to compete on multiple fronts

 

Can’t complain about depth then go on a selling spree.

Barkas is a must be offload and if Maeda comes in I’d get Ajeti away.

There’s a few loans for the fringe players like Shaw etc. But in terms of selling it’s only if and when players come in.

 

The reason I’d keep bitton is because a lot of players who aren’t deemed good enough for the strongest starting 11 , get annoyed and * off about, you need players who are quite happy with that set up and willing to just draft in now and again when others need a rest and come on when leading and shore things up,

 

Left back is now a bit of a joke, GT, Boli, Scales and Monty, and now shoehorning Josep, because he does not trust that lot, I know GT is injured but at the end of the day, he is just not good enough.
Needs sorting.
Keep Scales and Monty, punt the other 2, if we can bring in someone like that guy fae Darby.

 

Keeper is another position we need to sort, 4 full international keepers is too much.
Sell 3, and go for someone like Clark as our back up.
* forbid if anything were to happen to JH, and we had to call on any of that 3, can kiss goodbye to League.
