Last 10 years, no doubt PSV have been BETTER.. BUT Celtic are the bigger club, and to say that you are more well known throughout the world I find bemusing..

PLEASE explain what makes you think this? We have a much bigger fan base than you, and bring thousnads upon thousands to every European away game.

Listen, i think everyone is in agreement that PSV are the better side at the minute, i'll admit that. But on the matter of who's the bigger club, how can we tell?

I put this question to you PSV-Fan, but if anyone else wats to give their opinion feel free.

What is it that makes a club a big club?

IMO Squire, its the size of the fan base aswell as the history.. Personally I wouldnt say current form has much to do with it.. Look at Man Utd & Real Madrid - they havent done much in the past few years but would still be considered massive clubs because of their history and general persona.

It was more towards 90,000 fans. Worldwide, Celtic is more recognised. That is the defination of a bigger club. More countries and over 10 millions supporters make us bigger. PSV is only recognised more in Europe at the moment because of your recent success. We'll change that back soon enough :)

Exactly, there is no question who is the biggest, most followed and historically more successful, both in europe and domestically, club out of the two. PSV-Fan knows this, which is why he phoned his taxi.

The phrase 'clutching at staws' springs to mind! lol

    On the hoops :shamrock:

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to 'diss' your history. I know Celtic has always been a great club, the comment some guy made here that Celtic is way above PSV was just annoying me. I really like Celtic, that's not the point. Let's not have a argument here, the normal people are on the same level. You have the better history, fanbase and stuff, we have the better football and players.. but when someone starts about history, fanbase etc, it reminds me of Ajax and Feyenoord. They always say that they have the biggest history, the bigger fanbase and such, I don't care as long we have the best results.

I'm so proud of my club being so 'big' in Europe, it's only a 200.000 people city and we're in the top10 of Europe. We're a provincial city, so of course we don't have a big fanbase here.

I hope VoH goes to your club, I would like to so him in the Scottish league.

What makes a club big is the prizes they win at this point and the last 20 years. In the 50's anyone could have won any prize, because the level of play was lower. I am more attached to championships nowadays because everyone are pro's. For example: I think Pelé would have been an average good player nowadays.

I saw someone else comment that Celtic is much bigger worldwide, why is that? PSV is véry known in Asia and South-America, much more known than Celtic, with all due respect. In Brazil, when they think of Europe, they think of 3 things: Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSV. PSV has done very good business with brazilians, and south americans in general. We've had our share of good Koreans as well, so in Asia (South-Korea and China especially) we are very known as well. As far as I can imagine you don't have really famous players at this moment, and there aren't that many Scottish people spread out worldwide, so what makes you think you have 10 million fans? (Which of course is bollox).

I don't really care about history because i like to look in the future. Once you've received a price, it's over. You won the season, best thing to do is win the next one as well.

Ajax and Feyenoord? Thats a low blow :celt_2:

I dont think anyone is arguing with PSV's success in the last couple of years.

So lets get back to the topic of VOH joining Celtic

If anyone whats to start a "my * is bigger than your *" thread, be my guest:84:

EDIT: Celtic is a Scottish Club

Yes, it's a sad discussion started on the basis of jealousy I think.

I disagree, i think its quite a valid discussion and it DEFINITELY wasnt started through jealousy. Im taking it in light humour though, but you certainly cant expect to win an argument about PSV being bigger than Celtic on a Celtic forum now can you? :84: lol
