Apparently so. He was quality.

 

Thought he had a decent game today. Still a long way away from been someone we can count on to start and be an impact for us in the middle but we do play a crazy number of games so for now IMHO he is a good experienced option to have in the squad. Looking down the road I think next season when he has a full pre-season under Ange behind him we will know very quickly if he has a future or not at Celtic. For now though he is experienced cover.

 

Can you only do pre season training,pre season,can they not do pre season in the middle of the season to get them up to speed, like make them train harder,or can it be only be done pre season, asking for a friend

 

McCarthy was not quality by any stretch of the imagination

 

He makes Bitton look quick.

 

I can't wait until we get players in and players fit so we don't need to see some of the guys we're forced to play at the moment ever again.

Thought he was really silky yesterday.. never flustered, just controlling the momentum of the game. Has to take some credit for our domination of the game.

 

Bitton is quick.

 

McCarthy is neat and tidy on the ball but he's too slow , he always looks like he's jogging when he's actually sprinting.

 

He was pretty explosive back in his Wigan/Everton days but he's had so many injuries since it's actually a wonder he still has working legs.

 

Aye, but we never went behind lol. Assuming you meant his reaction to us losing a goal.

Thought he was decent enough tbh, not groundbreaking but did a job.

 

Thought he was class yesterday one step ahead of most players you don't have to run about like a headless chicken

 

Thought he played well. Will be useful to us on games like yday as cover and coming on late to give other midfielders a rest and settle a game. Yes he is slow but reads the game well and makes some nice passes. As someone said earlier he likes to pass out wide say with one pass rather than to the player next to him and then out to the wing, he cuts that pass out which I like

 

Aye he might be good if we are playing st johnstone every week

 

Seems the exact opposite of what Ange looks for in a player..

Remains an odd one with a four year deal too..

Don't think we'll see much more of him tbh, be interesting to see if he starts on Sat..

 

Clearly wasn't an Ange signing..

We probably didn't envisage Ange getting it all right like this and panicked to beef up the squad early door..

Thought it may work out but it's looked ominous for a while. These signings say it all..

4 year deal a hard one to swallow..

 

He won't be here come Summer imo, he's only 30 and he won't want to waste his final years on the bench.

There'll be plenty of Championship or even MLS clubs that'll take him.
